GEORGE WORKED AT THE NETHAM CHEMICAL WORKS NEAR PILE MARSH IN THE 1860S. ANY INFO ON GEORGE PALMER'S LIFE AT PILE MARSH. ( PYLE MARSH ) HIS FATHER WAS THE POLICEMAN ...JOHN PALMER....

Spurling, Palmer, Mayhew, Olden, Alden - Burston
William Spurling married Mary Alden (or Olden or similar) & they lived at Burston Hall. Daughter Rebecca married a William Spurling of Worlingworth, SFK at Burston Hall, settling at W'worth and raising many children there. Several died and are buried at St. Mary's church, W'worth. Rebecca & her William Spurling (son of Wlm Spurling & Phyllis Selsby) emigrated to Port Phillip (Melbourne) Australia in 1853 along with the remaining children aboard "Northumbria" and settled at Hawthorn, Victoria. One son, Wlm Spurling, had emigrated to Kilmore, Victoria, Australia with his cousin Leonard Palmer (from NFK) in 1849/50. Wlm & Rebecca and spinster daughter Ellen are buried together at Boroondara Cemetery, Kew, Victoria. Rebecca died aged 104 years. I descend from Rebecca & Wlm's son Selby Jeremiah who married in Western Australia and who died at Roebourne (W.A.)

Thomas Frankling and Hepzibah Dawson married about 1758, raised a large family in Buxton Norfolk. Their son James was a miller at Stiffkey, as was James' son Felix born 1787, and Felix's son Felix born 1812, and his son Felix born 1834. Another Felix Frankling born 1811, son of James' brother Samuel, was a miller too at nearby Binham. I am looking for a Felix Frankling born about 1834 who migrated to New Zealand or Australia

Felix Frankling was born at Buxton about 1770. In 1851 he was a retired Naval Commander living in Portsmouth with his widowed sister Maria, and a cousin Sophia Hayne, unmarried, aged 54, also born Buxton. Felix and his wife, Amelia Snook, had named a daughter Sophia Hayne Frankling, so they must have been closely associated.

GRIMMER FAMILY - CAISTER ON SEA - Caister-on-Sea
My GGG grandfather DANN Grimmer was baptised in Caister in 1811. His parents were Stephen Grimmer and Mary Bishop (IGI Index). His son Frederick Grimmer married Jane Norton in 1855, and their older son Frederick SPENCER Grimmer was subsequently born in New Plymouth NZ in 1866 (Frederick was in the 70th Regiment). If you know anything at all about the Grimmers of Caister please let me know. Thanks. UPDATE: It would appear that Stephen Grimmer was born in Catfield, and his father John was born in Topcroft. NICHOLS - Caister-on-Sea
Jeremiah Nichols was my Gt Gt Grandfather born March 1842 in Martham, Norfolk. In the 1871 census for Caister, Jeremiah's wife is noted as married and a Fisherman's wife, however in the 1881 census she is widowed. I have been told that Jeremiah was the skipper of a boat and that he perished at sea during a freak storm. I should really like to find out whether this story is true and wondered if anyone can help me? Any links to any part of my tree would be of great interest. Jeremiah was married to Jane ((Steward) born April 1841 in Somerton)They were married 24 December 1863 Gt Yarmouth Parish Church. Her parents were William Steward (from Bacton) and Margarate ((Dove) from Hickling)). Jeremiah was the son of John Nichols (born February 1810 in Hemsby) and Sarah ((Littlewood) born circa 1810 in Rollesby). John was the illegitimate son of Sarah Nichols who was born September 1787 in Hemsby. Sarah was the Daughter of John Nickals (bap November 1757 Hemsby) and Mary (Watson). John Nickals was the son of Edmond Nickles (born circa 1725 Hemsby) and Sarah. Edmond was the son of Henrey Nickels (bur. March 1778 Hemsby) and Susan.

I am trying to find details of Eliza(beth) Cater b Carbrook about 1818 who married a Daniel Cater b Thompson about 1814. Eliza is given as Cater formerly Cater on one of her children's Birth Certificates. When were they married, and where? It seems all their children 13 were born in Caston, therefore I presume they were married there or close by. I presume they were cousins as they were both Caters. Ralf De Rode was a Viking Leader & my 20th Gt Grandfather. Manorial rights were granted by the first Earl of Norfolk to Ralf in the early 1200. He took the name de Rode after the area of land he was given. This is according to Bloomfields History of Norfolk. He had 2 sons Walter de Rode b 1278 my (19th Gt Grandfather)& Thomas Rodekyn b 1280. As the generations went on the surname became "Rudkin" If anyone has any more info' it would be appreciated. William de Rode (18th Gt Grandfather) was in possession of Rode Hall, Carelton Rode, Norfolk. in 1232. Audrey.

Everetts of Carleton Rode and Besthorpe - Carleton Rode
I really need some information about the Everetts from Norfolk. My 3x great grandparents are Isaac Everett and Rebecca (Glover). The census records show they were born in Carlton Rode and married there. I am trying to find ANY information on their children, parents, silbings, deaths etc... I have 4 children for them - Elizabeth Ann (1861), Emma Ellen (1867) Melland George (1872) and May Florence (1876) all in Besthorpe, Norfolk. His parents are Isaac Everett (abt 1794) and Maria ? (I'd love to find her maiden name) I believe she was born about 1809 in Tibenham. I have 7 children for them. Elizabeth (1842), Isaac (1835), John (1830) Mary (1839) Sophia (1837), William (1840) and Ann (1839), all in Carleton Rode, Norfolk. I believe they were married in 1829 in Barburgh. Any information about this family line back or fowards would be very welcome, I am more than happy to share my information. Or if you have any suggestions on where else I can look, I am in Australia, so physically visiting a records office is a little out of the question though. thanks
