William Newell & Ann ?
- Brettenham
My 3 x great grandfather William Newell born c1810 was married to Ann ? born Brettenham, Norfolk c1807.
William died before 1841 (probable death registration Dec quarter 1840 Thetford) & I have found Ann (Newell) in 1841 census in Thetford with their 2 sons Walter & James (they also had a daughter Amelia).
Ann remarried Sep 1846 John Petch - they had a daughter Christianna - & I have found Ann in all the censuses 1851-1871 in Thetford giving her birth place as Brettenham.
Does anyone have access to Brettenham parish records? I would like to find William & Ann's marriage record c1830 probably in Brettenham & baptism records for their children in Brettenham or Thetford.
Thanks

Elden

I am interested in the Elden family. A number of Elden's were born in Broome during the 1800's. James, born in 1796 was head of a family of Builders and owned property in the village which passed to his sons, the business being run by another James (the youngest son, a Master Builder). If anyone has any information about this family or know anything about 'a building used as a chapel' mentioned in James Jnr's Will I should be very interested.
