Very keen to find anyone researching Newmans in Norwich. I have a Sarah born 1830/31 and a Mary Elizabeth born 1831/2. In 1851 Census Sarah was a housemaid at Castle Hotel, Richmond, Surrey and in 1855 was a servant in Tetsworth,Oxfordshire when she married Stephen Quartermaine. Searching for any relatives of Maud Harriet Hardy (née Forbes) who was born in 1883 and was one of the children of Alfred James and Mary Jane Forbes who emigrated to Canada in 1906 with two of their children. Maud married Maurice Hardy and lived in Norwich in about the 1930’s. They had at least three daughters, Doris, Edna and Peggy. Edna married a Mr. Alexander and they had at least two children Ann(e) and Roger. They lived on a farm in Little Wratting near Haverhill Suffolk during WWII. The farm employed Italian prisoners of war it is said. Any information, for family history puposes would be appreciated.

I am looking for the parents and then their ancestors of William Gage, who was born in Norwich, King Street in 1826, by 1850, he was living at Little Ellingham, where he fathered a son by his lodger Maria Hall(s), b. Feb 1831 and d. Sep 1913 at Sculcoates, Hull, East Yorks, where she an her family where then living. William d. at the same place Dec. 1898. The son he earlier fathered was fist known by his mothers name of Halls (William), but by 186 he was being called William Gage. It is belived that William b. 1826, eventually married Maria as she is later refered to as his wife, possibly ca. 1851. The only thing I know about William in Norwich is that he was possibly domiciled in the St Giles area.

Trying to find JOHN LARGE listed in 1901 census as being born in Cromer abt 1878(actually misrecorded as Sarge) However can find no other listings in 1891 0r 1881 census for John Large born in Cromer.
