Brooks Watson
- Kings Lynn
My great uncle, Robert Charles (Brooks) Watson emigrated to Queensland in the early 20th century and married Hetty McDowall. There was at least one child, Catherine from this marriage and she married Leo Dobbie in 1933. His father, William Watson was born 1852 in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, married Catherine Brooks from the same parish, and moved to Forest Gate. Mystery surrounds William's fate. He is thought to have deserted his family, somewhere between 1891 and 1901 and no trace of him can be found. Would be delighted to hear if anyone has a clue what happened to him.

Bullen/Smith/Frost(?) Kings Lynn, Cambridge, Grimsby
- Kings Lynn
My Grandmother was Laura Bullen Smith (b1889 Kings Lynn).
Her siblings were:
Stanley Bullen Smith (b1879 Kings Lynn); probably married Nellie Emptage in 1914 in Grimsby.
Walter Bullen Smith (b Tatterford 1883); probably married in 1909 in Cambridgeshire.
Ernest Bullen Smith (b1884 Kings Lynn); probably married in 1908 in Kings Lynn
Claud Bullen Smith (b 1886 Kings Lynn); emigrated to Australia 1911. Joined Australian army 1914. Married in England 1916 to Gertrude Shoote. Killed in action 1917.
Alice Bullen Smith (b 1889 Kings Lynn).
I have all of them on the 1901 census, but by 1911 I cant trace any. There is a family story about all the sons being killed in WWI. Another story tells of the family owning land and a bakery and losing it all to death duties, but I am finding no trace of this. Other family memories are of another supposed sibling Jane (Jenny) Smith, a Great Aunt May who lived to be 104, and a Mrs Bullen who reputedly lived to 120.
The 1861 also seems to imply a relationship to Mary Ann Frost (Bullen) (b 1843); Hannah Frost (Bullen) (b 1846); Harry Frost (b 1851) and William Frost (b 1854).
Other family names (all born/lived in the Kings Lynn area):
Stanley Smith (b1855.)- married to
Eliza Smith (nee Bullen) (b 1856)had following children:
James Bullen (b 1834)
George Bullen (b1838)
Frederick Bullen (b1842)
Emma Bullen (b 1845)
Robert Bullen (b 1850)
Walter Bullen (b 1858)
Eliza's parents were James Bullen (b 1810) married to
Jane Bullen (b 1816)
Stanley's parents were John Alfred (sometimes shown as Alfred) Smith (b 1821)- married to
Martha Mary Smith (b1827 Middlesex)and they had the following other offspring:
Alfred Smith (b 1848 in France but listed as British Citizen)
Charles Smith (b1850 Middlesex)
Sarah Smith (b1852 Kings Lynn)
Henry Smith (b1853 Kings Lynn)
Stanley Smith (b 1855 Kings Lynn)
Herbert Smith (b 1857 Kings Lynn)
Alice Smith (b 1857 Kings Lynn)
Uri Smith (b1861 West Lynn)
Edwin Smith (b1864 Kings Lynn)
Emily Smith (b 1866 Kings Lynn)
Arthur Smith (b1870 Kings Lynn)
Anybody got any links?
