JACKSON & STANNARD in METHWOLD, NORFOLK
- Methwold
I am reseaching my family history on my father's side. The information that I have is very sketchy. My grandfather Alfred Vurdun JACKSON (born 8th August 1917) married Violet May (nee STANNARD).
Violet May STANNARD was the daughter of Mary Jane (neeLEGGE) and John STANNARD.
Who were John STANNARD's parents??
Did Alfred JACKSON's family originally come from Lincolnshire? Is it true that his dad's name was William Arthur and his mother's Fanny Jane (nee ???).
If you can fill in any gaps then I would love to hear from you.

Epheus Kiddle
- Middleton
I'm looking for relatives of an Epheus/Ephens/Ephias(?) Kiddle, who married a John Fox in March 1828. One of the problems here is the spelling of the christian-name - it is both unusual, and it seems to be spelt differently with each reference found. She may have come from Wymondham and, after her marriage, lived in Middleton, and was one of eight children.
Any information would be appreciated.

Howlett
- Morton
Sarah Howlett was my great grandmother. She was born in Ringland and in 1871 was living in Morton (aka Morton on the Hill) as housekeeper to her widowed father Benjamin and her 19 year old brother also Benjamin. She married Thomas William Allen in 1872 moving to Swannington where she died in 1920. It is her brother BENJAMIN HOWLETT who I am really interested in. Her emigrated somewhere between 1871 and 1881 reputedly first to South Africa and then to New Zealand. His father was a shepherd and he was an Agricultural Labourer, so perhaps he continued in that vocation in NZ. I would like to know what happened to him as the family lost contact years ago, and I only knew of his existence from a chance comment from my late father.

Both are buried in Ketteringham churchyard but I have been brickwalled on their marriage and baptisms. Earliest record I have for them in 1760 when a settlement certificate was issued for them to move from Ketteringham to East Carleton. Selby is a very rare name for Norfolk at that time and the only entries Ive found for that family name are in Mulbarton or Harleston. Anyone with knowledge of Elizabeth Selby please?
