SLAUGHTER / SLATER - Horning
Researching Slater/Slaughter in Horning. My line starts with Henry Slaughter m. Sarah Gale in 1752. The marriage entry states that Henry was born in St Faiths. In particular trying to find out more about Robert Slaughter, b. 1832, great grandson of Henry. Robert married Sophia Myhill of Catfield and they ran the Half Moon Inn in Upper Street, Horning. Children were Sarah Ann (Sally) Slaughter and Alice Maud Mary Slaughter.

Wm List, my ggf died 16.3.1892 aged 78. Buried in St Edmunds, Horningtoft. Married to Maria, he was variously described as farm labourer and farm bailif. I am seeking info about siblings/parents/ in-laws. Also seeking info about Robert Pearce/Pearse m to 1) Rebecca Dawson buried Feb 1865. 2)Ann buried Feb 1903. All at Swanton Morley.

George James Houchen - Horningtoft
I am trying to trace information about my Great Grandfather George James Houchen born in Horningtoft in around 1872. His parents were (George) James Houchen a Shepherd born in Attleborough and Elizabeth (maiden name unknown). In the 1881 census they lived at number 73 the common in Brisley when my Great Grandad was about 8yrs old. In the 1891 census however James had a new wife, Jane, and they were living at 18 Turnpike Rd. By 1901 George James Houchen (my Great Grandfather)aged about 28yrs had moved to St.Helens, Lanchashire where I live today. In St Helens he worked as an Electric Tram Driver and married Emily Jane Pye (a teacher) in 1903. I am interested in what happened to James' first wife Elizabeth, why George moved to St.Helens and if any of his ancestors still live in Norfolk? Any informtion would be greatly appreciated.

THE DUNDER FAMILY - Horningtoft
Looking for information on ANN DUNDER. She was born in Horningtoft in about 1845. The date of her marriage to John Weedon (occupation coachman, born in Stanmore in about 1830) is unknown, but their first child, William, was born in Chelsea in about 1868. Ann's surname appears as DUNDER on census reports and her children's birth certificates - unfortunately I can find no trace of any family by that name. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Info sought on my g-grandfather Charles Moses PEGGS (b.15/3/1864 in Horsey) who was a farm labourer and local preacher. He later moved to Hickling and married Ann Elizabeth BAKER (b.15/1/1868?). They emigrated to Western Australia in 1911.

Noller Family - Horsford
Searching for family & information re William Noller (1806 Horsford). Parents unknown. William had various occupations – watchman, carter & finally a Policeman. He & Ann Rudds (1810 Norwich), marriage details unknown, & lived at Queen Caroline Yard. Children: Henry, John, Mary Ann & George. George went on to marry Mary Ann Cubitt. William died in 1859 aged 53 & I don’t know what became of his wife Ann. They lived at Queen Caroline Yard, Norwich. Names on census records have varied from Nolder, Noller & Naller. Thanks.

Balls Family - Horsford
My Grandfather William Balls was the sub postmaster and shopkeeper at Horsford in 1901.He was married to Alic Eliza Willimott. At some time between 1906 and 1909 he left the Post Office and went to Norwich where he worked as a coal Porter. Any information about the Balls family or Willimott's or when and why he left the Post Office will be welcome. Thanks

Hunt Family - Houghton St Giles
Rebecca Hunt was born c1791 and baptised in 1793 in Houghton St.Giles, Norfolk. She later married Thomas Cripps in 1815 in London. There seems to be quite a few Hunt families in Houghton, and I would like to find which one she came from. Her daughter Susannah Cripps married a William Hunt in 1857 in Clerkenwell, who I think was her cousin as he was also born in Houghton. His father was Jonathan Hunt and his mother Margaret Corbay.Wondering if Jonathan and Rebecca were perhaps brother and sister or maybe cousins themselves. Any help appreciated.

Daniel Scott m. Mary Durrant at Ingham 1762. Their son Daniel Durrant Scott b 1765 (bapt Norwich) m. Sarah Burton of Caister/Yarmouth in 1791. Their son Daniel Burton Scott (b & bapt Ingham 1796) m. Caroline Susannah Bligh Lovell. Memorials in Ingham church. Two of their sons bapt Ingham 1823, Frederick Edward Burton Scott (b1819) & Henry Durrant Scott. Their sister Caroline Susannah Scott (bapt 1826 in Boulogne, France) was my greatgrandmother. I have sketchy info about earlier Scotts & would like info about any of the above, please.

Robert Lee (born Wickmere)married Ann Ulph (born Saxthorpe) at St Mary's Itteringham 1822.They had 5 children officially, & 2 prior to their marriage who may or may not have been Robert's. The eldest son was called Dennis Ulph who married Ann Newstead in 1847, his family were known by both the Ulph & Lee surname seemingly at will. Looking for anyone researching these families, I'm descended from Robert & Ann's youngest son Matthew who married Phyllis Hopper in Erpingham 1861. Matthew & Phyllis lived in Itteringham & are both buried there.
