Hunt Family - Houghton St Giles
Rebecca Hunt was born c1791 and baptised in 1793 in Houghton St.Giles, Norfolk. She later married Thomas Cripps in 1815 in London. There seems to be quite a few Hunt families in Houghton, and I would like to find which one she came from. Her daughter Susannah Cripps married a William Hunt in 1857 in Clerkenwell, who I think was her cousin as he was also born in Houghton. His father was Jonathan Hunt and his mother Margaret Corbay.Wondering if Jonathan and Rebecca were perhaps brother and sister or maybe cousins themselves. Any help appreciated.

The eldest son was called Dennis Ulph who married Ann Newstead in 1847, his family were known by both the Ulph & Lee surname seemingly at will. Looking for anyone researching these families, I'm descended from Robert & Ann's youngest son Matthew who married Phyllis Hopper in Erpingham 1861. Matthew & Phyllis lived in Itteringham & are both buried there.

Children: Robert, Hannah (died at the age of 4?), Thomas, Hannah Elizabeth, and???? Hannah Elizabeth BUSH married Sydney Samuel WOODHOUSE in KELLING on 27th October 1913. Samuel WOODHOUSE and Susanna WOODHOUSE (nee POINTER) were the parents of Sydney. His siblings were: Sarah Elizabeth POINTER (born in 1874), Herbert, Arthur, Mary Ann WOODHOUSE, and ???? Do you have any other information? Can you provide any further information on my descendents?

African Explorer - King's Lynn
From The Century Cyclopedia of Names 1895 Thomas Baines was born at King's Lynn in 1822 and died at Durban, Port Natal 8th May 1875. An English artist and African explorer. He arrived at Cape Colony in 1842, accompanied the British Army throughout the Kaffir War 1848-51, explored North West Australia under Augustus Gregory 1855-56, and was artist and storekeeper to the Livingstone Zambesi expedition in 1858, he went with Chapman from the southwest coast to the Victoria Falls in 1861, and lectured in England 1864-68. He wrote 'Explorations in Southwestern Africa' 1864 and 'The Gold Regions of Southeastern Africa' 1877.

Ingle - King's Lynn
Thomas Ingle (1794-1872) MD LRCS son of John Ingle of Cambridge was surgeon and physician in the 1820s and 1830s in Kings lynn. He married three times and had six known children. His youngest brother Frederick LRCS was apprenticed to his elder brother and also set up practice in K.L. in Queens St. He married Pleasance Partridge in 1837 and two sons migrated to Australia. Travelling as a ship's surgeon on the ship "Dahousie", he came to Melbourne, Australia in 1852 at the peak of the gold rush. Carrying a cargo of gold, the ship sailed to Calcutta where Frederick caught cholera and died tragically in Feb. 1853. See Arthur Ingle "An Ingle Family History" pub. 1988 in Canberra Australia.

Samuel Folker - King's Lynn
I have been struggling in vain for a long time to prove a reference to the burial of Samuel Folker at King's Lynn around 1824 or a little after. I have no information about him after his marriage at Maidstone in 1794 except that he lived in London immediately after his marriage. He had been a Midshipman in the Royal Navy but was discharged prior to his marriage. His widow's death certificate shows him as having been a Master Mariner therefore it is assumed he was in the merchant service, possibly in King's Lynn in later life. I would be delighted to hear from anyone who has come across the name of Samuel Folker.
