Charlotte was born about 1801 possibly at Newton St Faith and died some time after 1871. They were possibly married in Taverham and had 7 children (Robert, James, Charlotte, Susanna, Caroline, Eliza and Lucy).

not much is known about the family before them some say that eliza was a gypsy and the family did not approve of her? thats why they left honing, i believe that the gedge family lived next to st peter and paul churches.

George James Houchen

I am trying to trace information about my Great Grandfather George James Houchen born in Horningtoft in around 1872. His parents were (George) James Houchen a Shepherd born in Attleborough and Elizabeth (maiden name unknown). In the 1881 census they lived at number 73 the common in Brisley when my Great Grandad was about 8yrs old. In the 1891 census however James had a new wife, Jane, and they were living at 18 Turnpike Rd. By 1901 George James Houchen (my Great Grandfather)aged about 28yrs had moved to St.Helens, Lanchashire where I live today. In St Helens he worked as an Electric Tram Driver and married Emily Jane Pye (a teacher) in 1903. I am interested in what happened to James' first wife Elizabeth, why George moved to St.Helens and if any of his ancestors still live in Norfolk? Any informtion would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for information on ANN DUNDER. She was born in Horningtoft in about 1845. The date of her marriage to John Weedon (occupation coachman, born in Stanmore in about 1830) is unknown, but their first child, William, was born in Chelsea in about 1868.
Ann's surname appears as DUNDER on census reports and her children's birth certificates - unfortunately I can find no trace of any family by that name.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
