John Barnes (1865)
- Great Yarmouth
I am trying to find the parents and/or siblings of my great grandfather John Barnes, born in Great Yarmouth in 1865, married Minnie Fisk and died in October 1933 in Sunderland. It is rumoured in the family that he may have been brought up by gypsies. Another story is that he was left on a church step as a child. I have so far been unable to locate his birth details. He appears on the 1901 and 1911 census, and this gives his birth year as abt.1865 and he gives his place of birth as Great Yarmouth. I am trying to find out if he had any siblings and further details of his parents. His father was also John Barnes, but I have no details of his mother.
