How could I lose anybody with this name?? My ggggg grandmother is Dorcas WILCH, bc1712, place unknown, but she married Thomas PITT in 1736 at St Nicholas, Great Yarmouth, stating she was of the parish. She died at Great Yarmouth in 1786 aged 66 yrs, and is buried in the north chancel aisle with Thomas, and 16 of their 20 children!! She is a favourite of mine, tho I know so little about her - 20 children, the mind boggles! Every search I have done turns up nothing.

I am looking for Royall ancestors from Norfolk. The two I know specifically are Elisha G. Royall who was born in Norwich in 1792(or possibly 1801! he obviously lied about his age on one of the censuses) and his son Joseph David Royall born in Great yarmouth 1824. Both of them moved to London but I cannot trace any of their roots in Norfolk. Tabitha died in 1845, and in 1847 George married ANN ELIZABETH SHREEVE (nee SMITH), a widow with children William (1834) Elizabeth (1835) and Edward Shreeve (1843). He was by now living in Great Yarmouth. George Wickham and Ann Elizabeth had a son George Wickham (1855-1897), who was a fisherman/ fish-seller,and also lived in Gt Yarmouth. He married Anna/Hannah Keable (dau of Robert Keable)in 1879. I should like to hear from any descendants, with a view to exchanging information.

Mckay or Goffin in Hakin - Great Yarmouth
I'm looking for information on Frederick John Mckay. He married Sarah Flora Knights in 1890 and she appears in 1891 in Great Yarmouth with her baby son Frederick Daniel. No Frederick John, though he was a fisherman and so maybe at sea. In 1901 son Frederic Daniel is in Yarmouth with Sara Flora's mother and Sarah Flora herself is in Hakin, Pembrokeshire, Wales, living with Jno Goffin. At least two of the children in their family have Frederick John as the father on their birth certificates, even though they seem to have first names related to John Goffin. Sarah Flora and John Goffin married 1911. I can't find a record of death for Frederick John, though I suppose he must have been dead in 1911 for Sarah to have remarried. Any ideas would be welcomed!

I've heard there is a book which tells the story of a Great Yarmouth vessel, narrated by its Captain. It discribes how one of the mariners: Charles Burwood (a 20-year-old) jumped off the coast of Uruguay around 1884.
