Surry Riches Soanes Key - Great Yarmouth
Looking for information about my ggg grandmother Sarah SURRY (b.1795) and her family. Sarah was widowed in 1842, and lived (according to the census of 1851, 1871, and 1881) in Great Yarmouth. By the 1881 census she was living with her granddaughter's family (Richard and Emma RICHES) at 4 Black Friars Rd in Gt. Yarmouth. One of her sons, Thomas, married in Gt. Yarmouth in 1849 to Maria Straights KEY. Sarah's other children had long since 'emigrated' south. One daughter had married a Thomas SOAMES (b.c.1830), a fisherman, in 1857. Sarah passed away in 1882 at the age of 88.

Does anyone know of the following: My great, great grandfather was called James Henry Read He lived in yarmouth with his wife who was Emma Bertha Flood. They had seven children alltogether! My great grandfather was the 3rd child born, Stanley James Read. I am also looking for an Alice Edna Leach who was my great,great grandmother apparently she came from a wealthy family who owned a sweet shop in great yarmouth, She married William Samuel Childs who died in the first world war. IGI listing first gave his birthplace as Frome, Somerset, then corrected to Great Yarmouth, Norfolk 1851 census shows Elizabeth CABLE, widow, living with her parents Charles and Sarah Hewett. Both spellings have been used, perhaps accent caused variations.

In theory should be daughter Sarah, named for Mother, but cannot find her and many Great Yarmouth records at NRO are either missing or too fragile to examine. Anyone having knowledge of this family and able to fill in the gaps would be greatly appreciated.
