Together they had two children: Dora Trixie KING, born 05 Apr 1897 in Wymer, Norwich; and Ernest Edward KING, born 07 Nov 1899 in East Wymer, Norwich.

Cromer History - Cromer
Having compiled a documentary history of Cromer pier (Poppyland Publishing, 1998, £9.95), I am now working on a more general book on Cromer history. Work for this includes putting all references to Cromer people up until the end of 1840 on a database, as well as studying primary sources of later date for information supplementing that found in the existing published histories by Rye and Savin. I also have a particular interest in the Bath House and the person and family of Simeon Simons who ran it for many years in the 19th century.

Am interested in any details of Holmes family from Cromer, especially Robert, born about 1801. At some point moved to Southend on Sea and married Sarah Frances Johnson. In 1881 he is living with his daughter Susan in Great Wakering. Am unable to find him on 1861 census or find a date of death.

Have found ancestors of my husband in Cromer, his mother was born FREEMAN, daughter of Frederick Percy and Ethel Maud nee CRISP. Links back to MAYES family in Cromer from early 1800's. Hope to find more and possibly find some other descendants. Perhaps someone will recognize more recent names - HOOPER or SHIPLEY. My husband is SHIPLEY and both his parents grew up in Cromer. He is related to the HOOPER family of Bury St Edmunds through his paternal line - they owned Southern Bungalow for many years, probably from about the early 20c - Gt aunt Una WINGATE-SAUL (nee HOOPER) lived there with her husband.
