He had three sons John born 1692, Richard birth date unknown and Anthony born 1694. John also buried in Thompson Church. Anthony farmed in Caston and is buried there. My ancestors, the Bigney family, were fairly well established in Catfield when parish records began, but then appear to have left during the 17th century. Some members turn up in other Norfolk villages later on. I am interested in whether anyone elsehas noticed that their family, which appeared to be established, also left Catfield and if they had any idea why it might have happened. And, of course, I would like to contact anyone who is also interested in this name, which is pretty rare.

I am a Bigney from a line that comes through Canada, my father from Nova Scotia. The line can be traced to 1750s in that province. My father claims that Bigney is an anglicanized version of Biguonet, a name from Montbeliard, that we are French Canadian. No one in the family is aware of any English connection. Trying to find details of Emma Clarke who was formerly Emma Seely, born Postwick 1838 of john Seely and Mary Rudrum. She vanishes from the record after 1867, dies in the Aylsham district, and is buried in Postwick with her sister who died in the 1860s. A Great Uncle remembers an Aunt in Cawston - but if it is Emma, it is his Great Aunt! There was a farmer Clarke here at the time. Husband? The Seelys not to be confused with the Salle mafia!

Henry's parents were William and Sarah Brown and this is were I come to a full stop, I haveno dates for these two and I do not have the maiden name for Sarah, if there is anyone out there who can help I will forever be in your debt

I was evacuated to Clenchwarton on 1st September 1939 and lived there until July 1945. I attended the village school until June 1944. I took the "scholarship" exam, passed it and went to a grammar school in Kings Lynn. Does anyone know if any history has been written about the children evacuated to Clenchwarton ?.
