Price family
- Chelsea
My gt.grandfather had a younger brother called Arthur Price born Vauxhall, Lambeth c1856 who married Eliza Champness c1857 Bishops Stortford. They were married 13th April 1884 at St.Gabriel, Pimlico (St.Geo.Hanover Squ.) and had two children before Eliza died. Eliza Gertrude a.k.a Gertrude was born 1885 and Amos late 1888. My last trace of Arthur and his children was the 1901 census when they were living at 40 Keppel Street, Chelsea. Arthur recorded as a 43 yr old widower, occupation undertaker with Gertrude 16 and Amos 12 whose birthplaces were given as Pimlico. Also in the household was a 29yr old cousin Mary Fuller born in Bishops Stortford. Arthur's mother was also an Eliza Champneys/Champness from Bishops Stortford who married a William Nye after the death of her husband Thomas Price. Would be very pleased to hear from you if any of this means anything to you as I would love to know what happened to this family.

Acton & Chelsea families - Norris, Henbery and Sharpin
- Chelsea
Hi - My g-g-grandfather John Sharpin Norris was born 1826 in Bond St London but lived in Bury St Chelsea. His siblings, Charlotte Lain Johnson Norris b.1824; William Charles Norris B.1832; Martha Caroline Herbert Norris B.1835 were all born at Bury St. Chelsea.
Charlotte married James George Henry Hancock in 1847 & had at least 3 children.
Their parents were John Norris B.1802 at Acton (son of John & Martha Norris, also of Acton) and Charlotte Henbery married in Chelsea in 1823. I have not been able to locate any birth details for Charlotte - also cannot, as yet, make the connection with Robert Henbery.
However following details (including the Sharpin middle name) certainly suggest a family connection, possibly brother & sister?
William Sharpin Henbery b.1812 to Robert & Ann Henbery.
William's daughter Emma B.1849 later listed on 1881 census as Martha Norris's cousin. Both cousins were bonnet cleaners & living in Chelsea.
There seems to be quite a few Henberys located in the Middlesex area, as well as a few Sharpins.
Any information regarding any of the families (especially helping me to make the connection) would be appreciated thanks! Val

Harriet Gould c1860 - c1940
- Chelsea
I am trying to trace the date of birth and death of my great grandmother Harriet Gould Higgs. She was alledgedly born c1860 but having searched Ancestry birth index for 10 years either side of 1860 I cannot find her birth recorded. From a newspaper article about my grandmother, she died during the second world war but I cannot find a record of her death either. I have found a record of her marriage to William Higgs. Her family were hatters and clothiers and lived in Leader St Chelsea.I think I have found relevant census entries but there is great confusion over her father's name, given as John Gould on her marriage certificate and Hugh Gould on census records. If anyone has any information about this Gould family, I would like to hear from them

Family of John Saunders - Chelsea
- Chelsea
John Saunders was born in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire circa 1853. His wife Phoebe was born in Belgravia in 1863, she died in 1908. They lived in Meek Street, Chelsea and had several children; Caroline b.1884. Phoebe b.1888 - d.1905, Ivy (aka Louie) b.1891, Lucy b.1891 - d.1894, Maude b.1894, Fredie b.1897 and May b.1901.
My husbands paternal grandmother was Caroline but the family history gets very sketchy beacause we can find no record of her ever marrying. She registered her son, Frederick's birth without a father but two years later she registered her daughter, Carrie Grace, and gave the father as Ernest Saunders and against her own name is the entry 'formally Paine'. To further complicate matters she brought both children up thinking their name was Chapman and put them in to a childrens home in Banstead in 1927 under that name.
The only other clue we have to the possible identity of the father is that on both the birth certificate and on my father-in-law's marriage certificate, the profession of Ernest Charles) Saunders is shown as a miller (brewery).
We would love to find anyone who might have connections with this family.

I am looking for an Edward Lampard 13 Suffolk pl 1881 wife Caroline Lampard. They had a son born the following year or Dec of 1881. I believe Caroline may have died in Childbirth or sometime after in 1882.It is likey that Edward then moved to Epsom/Wandsworth, Surrey as the 1901 census suggests.
Edward died in 1920 (unconfirmed)
William Edward Lampard served in the Royal Navy and was their son. I also believe that Edward may have had a brother called George who also lived in Chiswick. William Edward moved to Australia sometime between 1911 and 1915.
