ALLBONES FAMILY - Brigg
Matthew Henry ALLBONES, illegitimate son of Zilpha or Zilpah ALLBONES, born abt. 1836 in Hull. Married to Lucy WRIGHT with children Esther Ann, 1862, Walter, 1863, John W. 1866, Sarah, 1867, Matthew Henry, 1870, Isabella Atkinson Wadsley, 1873, Betsey, 1875, Maria Elizabeth, 1878, James 1880 and Zilpha, 1883-1909. Matthew was a vermin destroyer and they lived in Riverside, Brigg. Trying to find where Esther went after 1881. She was working as a servant in Hull then but seems to have disappeared after that.

We have ancestors in Brigg - Andrew Innes Douglas, surgeon, born in Scotland about 1790. his wife was Ann, born in Linconshire and they had a daughter Elizabeth who was a dressmaker, who eventually married a gardener named George Thompson about 1865. Elizabeth and George then lived in Brigg and had three daughters. Any information would be useful.

scaman colebeck west - Brigg
I am trying to fill the gap caused by a fire, at the vicarage at Brigg, which destroyed the parish records. William Scaman, a whitesmith, died there in 1679. My direct ancestor, John Scaman, was christened at South Elkington in 1773. He married Sarah Colebeck, and his family were wheelwrights in South Ormsby. His son Joseph married Mary West they were blacksmiths. She continued the business after his death.

Emmerson - Sayers marriage - Brocklesby
My ancestors Henry Sayers and Hannah Emmerson were married in Brocklesby in 1831. Their two sons, Thomas ans Henry were baptised there in 1833 and 1835. At some point the family moved to London. I have not been able to find either Henry's or Hannah's baptisms in the area around Brocklesby. If anyone is interested in these families in this area I wouls be interested to hear from them. Brookenby,name origin - Brookenby
I'm looking for information on why Brookenby was so named. According to the official website, the name is one of a former plague village(though not necessarily on the same site,or even nearby for that matter). I have queried it with the Parish Council, but they don't know where the info came from. from what I gather the name means 'village by the brook'.

There were 15 children, John, 1802, Mary, 1804, Elizabeth, 1805, Hannah, 1808, Maria 1810, Dinah 1814, Sarah 1816, Richard 1818, Uriah 1820, Thomas 1821, Martha 1824, Leaning 1826, Charles 1827 & Ellen 1831. Uriah, Thomas, Martha & Charles emigrated to America. Others married locally. Researching all of them!

Porkess - Broughton
David Porkess b abt 1820 and Harriet nee Johnson emigrated to Canada after 1851, their third child Charles was born there in 1855. By 1858 they were back in Broughton. My main interest is with their daughter Mary Ann Porkess b 1858. She married William Andrew a bell ringer at St Mary's Broughton in 1878. I am looking for any information about the Good family who lived in Burgh in the 1800s. Taylor Good married Elizabeth Cawthorne in 1829 and they had at least 11 children, including William Good (b 1834) who moved to Kirk Ella near Hull, married Hannah Wilberforce, moved to Etruria in Stoke on Trent and died in Wales. I believe that Taylor's parents were William Good and Mary Taylor (Mary may have been from Maltby on Marsh). Any information gratefully recieved!

OVERTON - Burgh le Marsh
William Edward Overton was christened 10 May 1795 in Burgh le Marsh. He married Ann (Paul?) and moved to Wigtoft. Their children were Eliza 1822, George 1824, Paul 1826, Mary 1830 and John 1833. Eliza married William Copping, George md Mary Ann Atkinson, Paul md Mary Craft and John md Betsy Wilford. George and Paul came to South Australia in the 1850s. William Edward was the eldest child of John Overton and his wife Sarah (Pattrick?). Other children were Sarah 1796, John 1797, Patrick 1799 and Mary 1800, all christened in Burgh le Marsh. Is anyone else researching this family?

Any information on the Good family? Robert was born in 1632 and his son Peter was born June 2nd 1668, Peter married Hannah Smith (b 1668). John born April 9, 1695 married Sussana Smalley. George Good 1744 - ? married Ann Bell (1755 - 1836. The family then appear to have moved to Anderby where George was born in 1781.

John KENT - Burgh on Bain
Looking for connections with John KENT. He was born in Burgh upon Bain in 1817. He married Ann WARD and they had several children Joseph, John, Allen, Herman and Sarah. He died in Sleaford in 1903. His parents were Joseph KENT and Ann WHITE. He had several siblings: Martha, Joseph, Ann, William, Christopher, Elizabeth, Mary and Samuel.

Some of them married locals. Rippon's lot were poultry dealers. Clara married Charles Edson Everitt in 1880 in Wandsworth, London. Also interested in another Rippon Porter born in Freiston in 1795 who became a church minister in Staines Middlesex (1861 census) and a landowner Edward Porter also born in Freiston who lived at Thyme Towers and had children with similar names to those of my family members.
