I am interested in George Pell, born in Woolsthorpe, Leicestershire in 1857. Although there are other Pells in the 1871 census, I cannot find this chap anywhere, although he reappears as a Poulterer and Game Dealer in Nottingham in 1881 before moving to London. I would like to confirma his parents and other relatives, if possible. He was my grandmother's uncle by marriage.

Researching John Gant, miller of Woolsthorpe by Colsterworth Lincs born and his wife Elizabeth,both born about 1800. Researching Ambrose Rippin b.1788 Colsterworth and his wife Charlotte b.1790 Stainford. Their children Isaiah Gant and Sarah Ann Rippin were married there 6 Oct 1857.

James Rippin was born in Colsterworth in 1777, one of 9 children born to James Rippin and Mary Bond. James Rippin (1777) married twice, first to Elizabeth Haynes in 1802 and then he married her sister Mary Haynes in 1823. The Rippin families lived in Aslackby and Woolsthorpe and I would be interested to hear from anyone researching the Rippin families.

CHARLES MARRIS 94th of foot - Wootton
I'm trying to find more info on a 3 x great uncle. His name was Charles Marris and he was baptised at Wootton on 6th Aug 1839. The 1841 & 1851 census records show him living with his parents Charles & Ann Marris at Wootton. In 1861 he was a private in the 94th of foot regiment. At the time of the census they were based in barracks at Brompton, Kent.I know the 94th of foot later became the Connaught rangers. I am unable to find any records relating to Charles after 1861. Anyone know what happened to him.

Chapmans in Wrangle - Wrangle
I have a copy of a letter of recommendation written on 9th November, 1882 by the Vicar of Wrangle, in which he recommends the 19-year-old twins George and Thomas Chapman. The twins and their sister Sarah Jane (who was aged 25) arrived in Sydney bearing this letter. George Chapman was my great-grandfather. I am seeking further information about this family. The Vicar who wrote the letter was Richard Franklin Wright, MA, Vicar of Wrangle nr Boston, Lincolnshire.

John Scaman - Wrangle
I am looking for information on the Scaman family that lived in Wrangle from about 1830. John Scaman married Ann Hibbert in Friskney in 1827 and they had 13 children. Their 5th child Mildred had a son in the Boston Workhouse in 1856 who was called James Scamans. All branches of the Scamans family descend from the children of John and Ann.

Thought to have been married to Elizabeth ? and have daughter Elizabeth. Lived with Elizabeth Mitchell in Australia. No issue. Further information appreciated.
