Platt family - Blyton
Does anybody hold information on the Platt family living in Blyton circa 1825. They were John and Mary Platt and two daughters Eliza b 1824 and Elizabeth b 1825. I believe the family moved to Manchester soon after the girls were born. I also suspect Eliza may have died quite young. Dave

Rose family, mid 1900 + - Blyton
During the 1960's I spent time on my Aunt and Uncle's farm, just after the railway bridge , Blyton, near Gainsbourgh, I thought that their name was ROSE, but now I am not so sure, I do know my uncle was called Bill(William), my Aunt was Ethel ( ne Lanes ) their children Geffory and Murreen. Iwas wondering if anyone think's that they know of them. my aunt went to live in Gainsbourgh after my uncle died, thanks from Elaine.

Any information would be welcome on the Roberts family from Blyton who were builders in trhe nineteenth century. My Gt Grandfather John Robinson Roberts was born in Blyton c1840 but movd to London and died circa 1898. He was the son of William Roberts and Elizabeth Robinson and had siblings George, Teresa (later Hallifield), Mary, Cecelia, William, Susanna ( later Smithson) and James. Any inforation on the family would be very welcome

I'm mainly looking for any information about Julia Goodhand born in Bonby Lincolnshire in 1862. Her parents were Elijah Goodhand and Mary Healless and she had 13 other brothers and sisters. I would be interested to know what happened to her other brothers and sisters.

bonby villagers - Bonby
I don't know whether anyone can use this info, but I have a handwritten lesson book, belonging to my gggrandfather, Thomas Mitchell, which he wrote in 1826 in Bonby, and brought with him on the boat to America. The book lists several men's names, followed by Bonby, as if they were residents of the community.

A plaque has been found in this area. Can anyone help with its origin? Possibly not local to Lincolnshire. It reads: "Erected to the memory of Thomas Walters, whose life was devoted to the interest of this Church, Sunday School, and CE. Born June 2nd 1886, died Dec 9th 1946."

Catherine McDonnough Bennett - Boothby Pagnell
Looking for Catherine's father, McDonnough Bennett. She was born in 1850/1 in Boothby Pagnell but the father was not on the birth certificate. (Mother's name Catherine Bennett.) However, Catherine McD names her father on her marriage certificate, occupation Butler, conveniently deceased! Is it a coincidence that the father and mother had the same surname (but weren't married) or is he made up? Any information would be very helpful.

I have traced my ancestors back to Skirbeck and require information on Thomas Greenfield my gg grandfather born 1819 married a Jane Gibson residing in Frieston 1848 at the Parish Church and lived in Spilsby Road and he was a gardener. His children were Edward, Thomas, William, Mary Ann and Jane. His father was also Thomas Greenfield and believe he married a Mary and also resided in the Skirbeck area, but are unsure if he originally came from Boston area. It may be that they were seed merchants and florists.

George William Gale - Boston
George William Gale b. 1937 in Boston, Lincs, son of William Gale b. Latchington, Sussex in 1811 and Ann born 1814 in Boston, was a barber/hairdresser in Boston,Lincs.like his father. He had brother John Thomas Gale b. 1844 and sister Mary Ann born 1835. GW married Eliza Stanton Paling, and had a son in 1876 of the same name who also worked as barber, and a daughter Elizabeth Ann (Known as Bessie) in 1885. Eliza's sister Emma Julia Paling, later known as Brown/Browne before her marriage to Andrew Marland, was my Great Grandmother. The Palings were from Southwell and Derby and moved to Scarborough by 1861 living as Browne or Brown, leaving their father, Samuel Paling, behind in Nottinghamshire! The younger G W Gale married Emily.

Looking for any info or photos or newspaper reports of Charles and Ada Walkerley & family, early 1900s - he was a trawlerman in Boston who was captured by Germans at beginning of WW1. John Ball & Surname - Boston
I am looking for my Great Grandfather X 5 John Ball. He was born in Hundelby Lincs just up the road from Boston in about 1740, he married Deborah Cobb at ST Mary's Hundelby in 1760 they had at least 12 children all born in Boston. On his Death John was a man of some means owning many properties. He was a Master bricklayer. John died in 1813 and many of his children also died and are buried somewhere? in Boston. As most of the deaths of John and his children where prior to 1856 (opening of the Canwick Road Cemetry) I believe that they all could have been buried at the Old Skirnbank St Johns Site at the top of the Road. I am reliably told that this site is now a Children playground which was converted between the 1960'-1980's My question is does anyone know if records and inscriptions where taken from gravesights prior to to the closing of the Cemetery? Most of John's family where married , christened, and died out of "The Stump" parts of the family later moved to the Aslackby area sowthward and from there later migrated to Australia. If anyone can assist me in the Skirbeck query I would be appreciative. John's oldest son was a Squire Ball looking for info on him and his family as well. I am also Interested in the Surname name Trivett (John/Thomas) who married one of John Ball's daughters (Maria) he was apparently an Attorney at Law in Boston. around the 1813 date they had two children by the time of John Ball's death in 1813.
