James Rippin was born in Colsterworth in 1777, one of 9 children born to James Rippin and Mary Bond. James Rippin (1777) married twice, first to Elizabeth Haynes in 1802 and then he married her sister Mary Haynes in 1823. The Rippin families lived in Aslackby and Woolsthorpe and I would be interested to hear from anyone researching the Rippin families.

Chapmans in Wrangle

I have a copy of a letter of recommendation written on 9th November, 1882 by the Vicar of Wrangle, in which he recommends the 19-year-old twins George and Thomas Chapman. The twins and their sister Sarah Jane (who was aged 25) arrived in Sydney bearing this letter. George Chapman was my great-grandfather. I am seeking further information about this family. The Vicar who wrote the letter was Richard Franklin Wright, MA, Vicar of Wrangle nr Boston, Lincolnshire.
