Hibbitt Family
- Stamford
I need some HELP!
I am related way, way back to the Hibbitt Family of Exton, Rutland. In particular, if you follow the line through Luke Hibbitt (1835 to 1925) and Sarah Ann Rudkin, (Luke was my great, great Grandfather), going back through to Luke Hibbitt (1806 to 1894) and Ann Rudkin, back further to Luke Hibbitt (1776 to 1830) and Ann Tyler, back even further to Luke Hibbitt (1744 to 1798) and Elizabeth Newman, and finally to John Hybot (1690 to 1763) and Ann Tubbs.
My father is John ArthurHibbitt (1932), his father (my grandfather) was John Cecil Hibbitt, whose father in turn, (my great grandfather) was John Thomas Hibbitt (1868), and his father being Luke Hibbitt (1835 to 1925, my great, great grandfather), the line then follows allthe way through back to John Hybot and Ann Tubbs as above. John Hybot married twice more, in fact Ann Tubbs was his third wife.
He first married Sarah Peeregood in 1712, and had three children, she died in 1719. Anyone have any information on this marriage and family line up to the present?
Then he married Mary Bottom in 1720 and had three, possibly four children, again has anyone got any information on this marriage and family line up to the present?
I know that the Hibbitt and Rudkin family...

Hare or Rudkin (Stamford Lincs)
- Stamford
My paternal grandmother, Agnes Rudkin, was born Agnes Hare, parents Jane and John Hare. Jane was 29 on the 1881 Census, John aged 27. She was born in Barholm and after she was widdowed she married George Phippen (originally from Greenwich, Kent) who was signalman at Greatford Gate.
Agnes married Frank Rudkin (born 1886, son of Levi Rudkin and Eliza Stainby). I have a photo of Jane and George outside the signalbox. I would like to know any information to pass onto dad (also named Frank), but particularly to get further back on Jane's family as dad always insisted his mother's family came from Leeds. The Rudkins appear to come from Empingham and the surrounding areas.

Ludlam family
- Stamford
I'm tracing the Ludlam family who originated in Laughten en le Morthen in Yorkshire, but one of whom lived in Stamford. My interest is James Ludlam, Collar & Harness maker, St Paul's Street, Stamford, who married Sarah Davis at All Saints Church there in 1815, and who is shown as living there from 1841 til he died in 1866.
There is also a Silas Ludlam, born in Stamford around 1826, who was a Carver & Gilder in the High Street (on the map, it seems an extension of St Paul's Street). Silas was married to Ann Oates in Sheffield, after which they moved back to Stamford, where he died in 1864. I can't find a link between Silas and James, apart from the fact that James's son Thomas named HIS son, Silas James Ludlam in 1858!
Can anyone throw any light on this mystery? Please!
