Two Johns; Scaman cousins
- South Elkington
In 1773 my ancestor, John Scaman was born in South Elkington. He married Sarah Colebeck, of Burgh on Bain, in 1799. They lived in South Ormsby, then Tealby.
In 1770, Jonathan Scaman was baptised in Burgh on Bain. He married Elizabeth Sanderson in 1800, at their parish church in South Elkington.
If I can prove that these two Johns were cousins I could link them to Joseph, and his brother Thomas Scaman who married Elizabeth Taylor in 1760, at South Elkington.

Healey
- Spalding
I'm trying to find out when and where my Grandfather's twin brother Percy Healey b. 1/11/1895 Hunslet and moved to Spalding some time after 1901 with his family (father Richard and mother Sarah) and emigrated to Canada sometime later. He was a merchant seaman working for the Cunard line and with two ships went to the USA where he went through immigration at Ellis Island in 1923 and 1924. In the 1950's his son (name unkown) was in the Canadian Royal Navy - so I am assuming that he emigrated some time between 1924 and 1950. Percy's wife's name could be Edith as Percy and Edith Healey were witnesses to my Grandparents marriage in 1920 (Harold and Lillian Rose Waters).
Any help on Percy or anyone else in the family would be greatly appeciated.
Many thanks
Carol
