I have been told that on his marriage certificate, (to Mary Ann Hamilton in 1846) his father is stated to have been a Daniel Metcalf. Does anyone have access to the 1841 census for the Thornton Curtis/Barrow area to check this? Doing a search on Ancestry for Metcalf Fish as a double name, brings up a death reference for Edith Metcalf Fish born c 1790, could she have been Daniel's wife or sister?
