YOUNG Durham - Lincoln - Lancashire - Wales
- Lincoln
James Young, born 1796 Durham, married to Ann. Fathered John (1823), Robert (1828), Henry (1830), William James (1836), Thomas (1838), James (1841). Of these sons, four went on to be church organists, including John in Lincolnshire Cathedral, Robert in Durham, William in Lancashire, James in Flintshire, Wales...all despite their father being a mere painter/glazier. Have no information on the father of James Young or Ann's relatives. But there must be something in their background which influenced this. Does anyone have background information on these men?

Clayton .Lincoln, Stoke Rochford Hall, Kirton
- Lincoln
I am searching for information on my Great Grandma. Her name was Betsy Ann Clayton. She was born in 1869. At the time of the 1881 census, she was living with her father, Henry-born 1847, in Edlington Lincs, also her brother George 14yrs, sisters Lucy 9 yrs, and Kate 7 yrs. Also living with them was Eliza Richardson 21 yrs a servant from Scampton. Their address was 4 Danes Passage, Lincoln. There is no mention of her Mother, so I think she must have passed away at a young age. I believe that her Father Henry came from Woodhall Spa. At the time of the 1891 census Betsy Ann was living in Stoke Rochford Hall, as a servant.(this is near Skillington where a lot of my Johnson ancestors were living) Betsy Ann later married my Great Grand father James Johnson and moved to Kirton near Boston, Lincs. One of their sons, James was my Grandad. Any information about Betsy Annn or other family members welcome. Also any information about Stoke Rochford Hall appreciated.

Rudkin - Lincolnshire, ENG ->Arkansas, USA
- Little Bytham
I am searching desperately for information on John R. Rudkin, my gr grandfather. He was born in Lincolnshire, ENG. I have three significant events each with a different birthdate: US Civil War Enlistment shows BD as 1824; Cleveland Co, AR, USA 1870 Census shows BD as 1833; and Jefferson Co, AR, USA 1870 Census shows BD as 1832.
The earliest date that I have in his war record is 1861. I need to connect the dots from Lincolnshire ENG to Jefferson County Arkansas, USA.
There was a John Rudkin, illigitimate son of Louisa Rudkin (Louisa's parents were Daniel Rudkin and Alice Fryer) who married David Meyers. They were listed on the 1851 Census(info provided by another researcher)living at 101 Pipe Makers Lane, Boston, Lincolnshire, ENGwith children David and George and Louisa's illigitimate son John Rudkin. This family migrated to Canada. This is a good possibility, but I haven't been able to connect from Canada to Jefferson County Arkansas USA.
Hoping for a response.

my grandmother
- Little Wisbeach
Can anyone please help me locate the Addy family? My grandmother was Jamima Addy, born abt. 1836 at Fleet, Lincolnshire, England. Her father was John, born abt. 1805, I don't know where, and her mother was Sarah, born abt. 1804, I don't know where. I do know that Sarah died of Consumption on the Ship Joseph Walker, coming to America in 1853. I was told that my grandmother and grandfather met on the ship coming to America, but he is not on the ships list that I have. There is however, a George Mervin on the same ship that I have always wondered if that could have been George Marris and he changed his name on the ship for what ever reason. The reason I wonder about George Mervin is because he was going to Cleveland and so was Jamima. I would so appreciate any information anyone could and would give me. Thank you very much. May
