Harold and Doris
- Grantham
My great aunt 'Dodie' lived on Commercial Road, Grantham with a man I knew as uncle Harold ( I recently discovered they were not married). I stayed with them many times as a child and even attended Spitalgate school during at least one long stay. They were there possibly from the late 50's and maybe to the end of the 60's. Harold worked on the railway (poss. signalman), Dodie was an office cleaner. She had been married and her last name could have been Kirkland or Lane. She may even have used Harolds name but, unfortunately, I dont know it. Any info please as they were a huge part of my childhood.

Reid/Band - Grantham
- Grantham
I have just started researching my family tree. My paternal grandmother - Gladys Evaline (alt Eveline) Reid - was born in Grantham (DOB: 15 May 1895) to parents Walter & Kate Reid (nee Band). She had a daughter named "Oris Enid" (DOB: 1913 or 1914). The father is recorded simply as "Oris" and his DOB is "about" 1880. I don't know whether Oris is a surname or christian name - but suspect probably a surname. Gladys later married Harry Hore on either 10 or 11 Nov 1917, in Grantham and emigrated to New Zealand some time after that. If anyone has any details about these family members, I would be pleased to receive them and to share any useful detail from my research to date.
