REED (READ) Grantham Lincs
- Grantham
John REED (IGI records READ) was born 23 Jan 1800
in Grantham, Lincolnshire, parents William and Mary, and, again according to IGI, married
Mary DALRYMPLE 11 Jun 1825 in Drypool, now part of Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire. Daughters Anne and Georgina were born in Drypool, not sure about the birthplace of my sons' great grandfather Charles Stanley, perhaps Canada. The family moved to Canada and lived in Port Hope, Ontario, where John died 25 Sep 1882. My son David has submitted a sample for DNA testing, with no results connecting us to anyone in England. Would any REED males in the Lincolnshire/Yorkshire area be willing to submit a sample to see if a relationship could be established? It would be interesting to discover we still have "cousins" over there.
Thank you,
Vera

I am looking for information about my great great grandfather Gabriel Pigott who was born in 1823 and had a tailors and outfitters on what looks like the market place in Grantham on an old photo in the family. He may also have been co owner of another in Lincoln. My Great grandfather Henry Pigott was born in Grantham but later moved to Chorley, Lancs, and later Sheffield. My grandfather Morris Carlyle Pigott was listed in the 1901 census as being in Little Gonerby, near Grantham, so was possibly living or staying with his grandfather.I was wondering if there's anyone who knows if Gabriel was born in the area as I have found reference to a Gabriel Pigott born 1821 in Saltouse,Norfolk, and a marriage in Wisbech of a Gabriel to Elizabeth Saunders which is all very confusing, but wonder if they are connected in some way and it is a family name. Also wonder if Henry had any siblings and if there are any descendants still in the area
