Butlers in Scunthorpe - Frodingham
Searching for information on (or descendants of) CHARLES BUTLER and JANE HOSKISSON, who lived at 76 Frodingham Road in 1901. They had two sons, GEORGE WILLIAM, born in Birmingham in 1878, and HARRY H. (possibly Hoskisson) born about 1880. Both brothers married in the early 1900s in Glanford Brigg. I have no names for the brides. It is possible that George abandoned his wife and/or family, because he turned up in Canada several years later, gave misleading information about his birthplace and background, and married again in 1922. He died in Canada in 1961, and never revealed his true birthplace.

Have you got a William Higgs, stonemason in your family? Had a daughter Eliza born about 1850 - Gainsborough put as place of birth on 1871 census but cannot find her in the St. Catherines Indexes.
