Looking for more information on my great-grandmother's family. Susannah Sharp was born in Grantham, Lincolnshire on 3 December, 1849. On her death certificate, her father's name was given as William Sharpe and her mother's maiden name was given asMary Musson. I have located a marriage record for a William Sharpe and Mary Musson who were wed on 17 November, 1832 in Coningsby, Lincolnshire, but I have no concrete proof that they are indeed Susannah's parents - she was a late baby, if so, and would have undeniably had siblings. They may have been Methodist - Susannah's husband, John James Hill apparently was. The 1881 British census states that John and Susannah were then living in Sewstern, Leicestershire and that while John was bornin Doncaster, Yorkshire, Susannah and their children were born in Grantham - this would seem to indicate that Susannah and her family had been in Grantham for some time. The Hill family came to the US in 1881 as part of the Mormon Immigration; theysettled in Orem (Provo Bench). Susannah Hill died 27 January 1918.

James Milson's father's farm was close to Grantham. James went to Australia 1806. His brother Robert went to Canada. James married Elizabeth Kirkpack and their children were Sophia, James, Davis, Elizabeth, Robert & John. See "The Life and Times of James Milson" by Roy H Goddard, published Georgian House, Melbourne, 1955. James was one of the first settlers of North Sydney and had a home near where the north end of Sydney Harbour Bridge now is, in the area now known as Milson's Point.
