Have you got a William Higgs, stonemason in your family? Had a daughter Eliza born about 1850 - Gainsborough put as place of birth on 1871 census but cannot find her in the St. Catherines Indexes. Could have also had the name of Maria but known as Eliza. Eliza married Joseph Stinson in Sheffield, Yorkshire when she was 19 in September 1869. John William Houltby was born around 1879 but I can not find his birth. John Married Amy Frances Wright in 1903 March Quarter Gainsborough. They had eleven children. My link is with Maurice Houltby born in 1914. Amy Wright's father John Francis Wright came from Boston Massachusetts USA. The names of Crosland and Abell also link in with this family.
