The Bailey's of Bottesford and Croxton Kerrial - Bottesford
Hello everyone. I have recently started to research my family and have just found your site (very interesting). I would be very grateful for any information and/or photo's connected with my family conections to Normanton, Bottesford and Croxton Kerrial. My Great, Great Grandfather was Henry Bailey, born in Bottesford in 1811. Henry married Elizabeth Robinson (also born in Bottesford I believe) in 1831. Thomas Bailey, my great grandfather, was born to Henry and Elizabeth in 1845 and the 1851 census shows them as living in High Street, Bottesford when Thomas was six years old. Thomas, who was a bricklayer, married Harriet Charity (b. 1847 Croxton Kerrial) on 21st September 1870 in Croxton Kerrial (I have lots on info. on the Charity's). Thomas, Harriet & family show up living at 'The Nook, Croxton Kerrial' in the 1881, 1891 and 1901 Censuses but, apart from the birth of my Grandfather, Thomas Henry Bailey, who was born in 1871 in Croxton Kerrial, I can find nothing between 1851 and 1881. My Grandfather, Thomas Henry Bailey, married Sarah Ann Jackson (from Billinghay) in Grantham in 1899. Anything at all would be very much appreciated. Kind regards, Stan
