Hi, A branch of my family moved to Liverpool. I am interested in anyone with Wills roots. I have Richard Standing Wills(12) on the 1881 census William was (6) and frederick was ( 9 months) They had a brother George but I can account for his family. Would love to know. William Sumner Royle - (Liverpool - Lancashire)
WSR was my g/grandfather. Probably born in Liverpool in 1846 (although census entries always show Irlam). His mother was almost certainly Ellen Simner who was unmarried. She married George Royle from Manchester in Liverpool in 1852. William is not to be found in the 1851 census, or with his apparent parents in 1861. He marries Mary Ann Goddard in Liverpool in 1868 and is a hotel porter in the 1871, 1881, and 1891 census. Then I lose him. His son, also Wm Sumner Royle was brought up by an aunt in South Wales from about 1880. Mary Ann died in a mental hospital back in Gloucester in 1886. Anyone come across them?

Baker Family - (Liverpool - Lancashire)
William Baker, a mariner, married Ann Metcalf in Liverpool in 1850. They had a son John Matthew Baker (b Liverpool in 1851- died Llanfairfechan Wales in 1930). John had 'two brothers and two sisters who were succesful in the bakery trade at Mossley Hill, Liverpool - and only one son between them '. Possibly William and Ann split up and William had these later children by another wife. Has anyone any ideas of what became of them. In the 1851 census Ann and John are at Kent Place, Stone Street. William is marked 'husband at sea '

My great great grandfather THOMAS O'SHAUGHNESSY (b.1831) married ANN DAVIS (b1836) abt 1858 - I think in Ireland where they were both born. They had at least five ch. The oldest (JOHN THOMAS b.1862) was born in Bengal, India where his father was probably a soldier in the Indian Mutiny. By 1864 they were in Walton, Liverpool where their second son, MICHAEL was born. Their third ch. was GEORGE, my great grandfather b. Walton 1867. CHARLES and MARY FRANCES are the last two ch. I have found. GEORGE married ANNIE O'CONNELL (b1867 Ireland) in 1888 at St.Joseph's Blundellsands. Her father was JOHN O'CONNELL b.1845 prob. Ireland and he was a blacksmith living at Orrell Park, Aintree - no idea who his wife was. ANNIE and GEORGE had five ch. the middle one being MARY MONICA O'SHAUGHNESSY, b.1895 Waterloo who married WILLIAM THOMAS GREEN b. 1888 Northants - these are my grandparents. Any info appreciated. MAY Peter b.c-1858-1861 - (Liverpool - Lancashire)
Am looking for Peter May who married Dorothy Ann Thompson in Tynemouth in 1887. On 1891 and 1901 censuses, he gave his place of birth as Liverpool ... but can't be found at all on earlier censuses. Only possibility seems to be Peter May in the 1881 in a ship off the Cornish coast, but giving his place of birth as Westport, Ireland! Am ordering the Marriage Cert to get Peter's father name and occupation, and hopefully Peter's year of birth .. but still stuck as to his place of birth.

I am trying to find the father of George Hay born about 1796 either in Liverpool or Warrington. He became a tobacconist on Crosshall Street (1841 census)The family later moved to Birkenhead then back to Liverpool. Another tobacconist, David Hay lived almost opposite with his parents William and Mary. I imagine they were related but can't prove it. Hi , I am trying to find information on a Patrick WOODS, who died before 1896. I know that he had a son called John WOODS (1872 - 1910) who married a Caroline CROSS. John WOODS was living as a lodger in Dale street, Merseyside on the 1891 census aged 19. However I can not find any mention of his father Patrick Woods on any census, which is strange. I wondered if this related to anyones family research at all or if you anyone knew anything? Thank you very much Louise

They were both born in Ireland, early 1840's, came to Liverpool to marry in 1866 at St Anthony's Chapel, off Scotland Road. Went on to have 7 children, Mary Ann( 1869) Alexander & John both died early, then Charles (1873), David (1876), Theresa and my Grandmother in 1881. John & Susannah both died in their 40's in 1889, he was a Police Inspector. I have never found Charles or David since the 1891 census and it it these that I am really interested in

Thomas Hesketh (1891-1930?) - (Liverpool - Lancashire)
Im looking for any information on Thomas Hesketh (1891-1930?) he was my great grandfather, he lived on Grassmere St in the Anfield area of Liverpool. After serving in WW1 he became a tram driver in Liverpool before his death which was due to gas poisoning he suffered in WW1. He married Elizabeth Morris, whose father was George Morris. He also had a brother William Hesketh who married Nora who was a music teacher. Any information would be greatly appreciated as it is for my nan who is very interested, she is currently not well in hospital. In particular I am interested in a portrait of Thomas Hesketh which was apparently given to rogue salesmen by my grandfather who had conned him into believing it was going to be used as a prop on a tv show over 30 years ago! I hope it is still about somewhere, it apparently had his name inscribed in the bottom corner with his army uniform on, my mother remembers it well...please get in touch if you have any information at all.

I am looking for (1) Abraham Hirst born <1790> married Isabel? They had two children (that I know of) John Hirst 1814 and (2) Abraham Hirst 1817 both born/christened in Colne, Lancashire. Abraham (2) married Eliza Kilshaw (formerly Ward) <1842> and they had six childred all born in Liverpool. One of these children was Emma Hirst my great grandmother who married William Holland of Coppenhall, Crewe, Cheshire. Abraham (2) died in Coppenhall, Cheshire Sept quarter 1891. I am looking for any info on a David Levingston/Livingstone, born abt/1798 and wife Sarah born abt/1800. David was possibly born in Armagh, County Tyrone, Ireland and moved to Liverpool abt. 1830/31. Their children were Harriet, William, Charles, John, James, Margaret, Sarah and possibly a David. They lived in the Mount Pleasant area of Liverpool. David Sr was a carter on the Liverpool docks. SELBY, Jane b. abt 1821 Liverpool - (Liverpool - Lancashire)
Jane Selby died in 1891 and is buried in Manly Cemetery, Sydney, Australia. Looking for shipping papers or confirmation of her date of emigration to Australia. She married William MILDWATER (MILDWORTERS) on 16 Jul 1840 at Scots Presbyterian Church, Sydney. William and Jane are noted as early pioneers in the Manly district of Sydney, NSW. They had 11 chldren. So far I have found nothing about her UK background, except that on the headstone in Manly Cemetery her part is inscribed "Jane, Native of Liverpool, England, aged 70 years". (It does not say Lancashire). Any help will be much appreciated.

Searching for relatives of Harry Robinson Waldron and Josephine Barnett, married 31.10.1889 at Salford Registry Office. Harry died 1912 and Josephine migrated to Australia with their four younger children in 1913. Eldest child, Leonard, remained in England and married Georgina Sangster in 1917. He was killed in action in France on 9.4.1918. Any information on this family greatly appreciated. I am a daughter of the youngest child, Leslie Benson Waldron, born 1899 in Liverpool died 1974 in Melbourne, Australia.

They were living at 11 Preston Grove, Walton on the Hill, Liverpool in 1901, with Ferris Stanley (6) and Ivy (4). Robert was working for a "Flour Importer" as an "Over Locker" and living with them was his brother-in-law Stanley CULLINGTON (27) who was a Mariner with Master's Certificate. His sister-in-law Gwendoline CULLINGTON (25), who worked as a "Hospital Nurse" and "Aunt-In-Law", Laura WELLS (58) "Housekeeper-Domestic" was also living with his family. There is a possibility that the following was born to Robert & Ada: Births Jun 1903. Chilcott Alice Maud. W. Derby 8b 437. any information regarding this family would be most welcomed.
