(I'm not sure where in Kensington so I hope this is right) (I'm trying to find his exact birth & parents) He married my Great Grandmother, Mary Goldworthy, in Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia, on 29 December 1872 They are both buried at the Carlyle Cemetery, Rutherglen, Victoria, Australia. Kirkby Ireleth is now known as Kirkby in Furness. Most of the villagers worked at the slate quarries.Next villages are almost "joined on" - Broughton West, Dunnerdale and Seathwaite. Thomas Dixon,29, lived in 1851 in an area of Kirkby Ireleth known as Kellet Ground with his wife Mary,22,-daughter, Ruth 3 months and in-laws - John Lewis,54, - wife Ruth ,48, - bro-in-law Joseph,13,- sis-in-law Ann 8 and sis-in-law Ruth,2 weeks. Next door but one ,at area of High Beanthwaite ,is Thomas Dixon,widower ,65 with daughter, Elizabeth,30 and what are (I believe ) at least 2 illigitimate grandchildren ! namely John ,4 Elizabeth ,4 - and also 1 year old Hannah ( the name of Thomas's late wife)and born in nearby Ulverston. If anyone can help with any details of this family I would be grateful, especially Hannah's maiden name.Thomas and Mary were my gr.gr.grandparents,- John and Ruth and Thomas and Hannah my gr.gr.gr.grandparents.

Looking for information on my Gt.Grandfather James Cowley b.1826 (approx.) who may have originated from the I.O.Man. He married Catherine Thomas b.1825 (approx.) at St Mary the Virgin, West Derby on 18.12.1847. They are listed on the 1881 Census asliving at 3 Halewood Road, Much Woolton with their three children including my Grandfather John Alfred Cowley. He married Agnes Ellen Jones (b.1866) of Llandegla, Denbigh at St Stephen's, Gateacre in 1895. They had one child, my mother, Agnes Irene who married my father Joseph Leonard Crompton of Widnes in 1925 at Kirkdale. There were three sons from this union John, Leonard and (me)Geoff. I married Lois Winifred Jones in 1956 at Mossley Hill Parish Church. We have one daughter Gillian Kay who married Grant Phillip Stanning in 1988 at Hartford, Northwich. Richard's wife was Harriet Jones from Fitz in Shropshire, sadly she died young in 1891. Her sister, Martha married Arthur Hornby, also from Kirkdale, hence Daniel's middle name.
