Hayes Of Bolton
- Bolton
I have a James HAYES born at Bolton in 1829.
In the 1881 census he is at Barnsley WRY. with his wife Ann DOUGHERTY (MURPHY). I believe that they were married somewhere between 1870 and 1880, but I don't know where. Ann was born MURPHY around 1845 atBirkenhead. She possibly married someone called DOUGHERTY and was widowed before she married James HAYES. My Gt. Grandfathers birth cert shows that his parents were James HAYES and Ann MURPHY, but a distant relative has the birth cert of Joseph's sister and this shows her parents as James HAYES and Ann DOUGHERTY. I feel that due to his age that James was also a widower. but I cannot find any marriage for either of them. Can anyone help???
