Ordidge Sheppard silk gown from 18th Century - Barrow-In-Furness
I have in my possession an eighteenth century gown from the 1760s-1770s, the quality of which suggests the owner would have been a person of financial means. A note sewn to it reads that it was owned by a Miss Ordidge who married and became Mrs Sheppard. The gown was then given several generations later to the two children of D & E Birkett (or Biskett, not sure of spelling). Can anyone be of help in finding more information about the origins of this gown and its owners? thank you.

Searching Family Douglas/Stevenson - Barrow-In-Furness
I am searching for any family members in the Douglas or Stevenson family. Annie Douglas married William Stevenson sometime in the 1890's I think. They lived at 11 St Patrick's Road when Robert was born. Robert was a merchant seaman and married a Mary Agnes Tyson in 1945 and lived in Warton, Carnforth, Lancashire. Unfortunately, Robert committed suicide and we know very little about him and absolutely nothing about his family.
