Peill - Eltham
Looking for ancestors of Edwin Peill and Sarah Tomlyn who married in 1845 and moved to Bromley Kent by 1851. Their fathers were listed as Peter Peill (Ag Labourer) and Thomas Tomlyn (Blacksmith) on their marriage certificate. Edwin was born in Eltham according to his census entries. Sarah gives Seal Kent as her birthplace.

HOWARD, 33 Blunts Road, Eltham 1940-65 - Eltham
Joseph HOWARD lived at 33 Blunts Road, Eltham during the 1940-60s with his long-term partner Alice Edith Annie (commonly known as Von, or Yvonne). They married in 1965 after many years of living together, but Joseph died shortly afterwards. Von was somewhat older than Joseph and I would like to know if anyone remembers them? Street, Frederick Charles - Eltham
I am interested in finding any information relating to my great great great grandfather Frederick Charles Street. He was apparently living in Eltham, Kent when he died in 1815. He was buried in Woodford, Essex. He was a stockbroker by trade and he lived and worked in London until around 1812/13. He was married to Olive Nailor and they had 3 children, Frederick John, William Joseph and Catherine.

SHALLESS - Eltham
Does anyone recall an Edwin and Dorothy SHALLESS of 76 Eltham Road, Lee Green? Edwin Gattey SHALLESS owned the Tobacconist's at 2 Well Hall Road, Eltham in the 1930s and possibly also a shop on the High Street. It seems they might also have owned a garage somewhere. My gt gt grandfather was William Cassellton (Casselton), born abt 1845 at Lee, East Wickham,or Welling, depending on which census you prefer. He is the son of John CASSELLTON. It appears to be the John & Emma CASTLETON who in 1841 were living at Kerk's or Keith's Yard, Eltham High St with their older children Frederick & James. Can anyone tell me if this address still exists, as I have been unable to find it on a current map or mid -Victorian map? Also looking for any other descendants of John & Emma.

The George Family - Eltham
I am trying to find members of the George family. I believe there was a Tommy George. They had something to do with a working mans Club in Eltham. The "Georges" used to visit my mother in law Elizabeth Hudson at her home in Greenwich, I know there was some connection between them and her but cannot find what. I remember her telling me as a little girl she was brought up by "Granny George" in Peckham/Camberwell. Please can anyone help.

MARTIN of Eltham - Eltham
Looking for information on two brothers, William MARTIN, b. abt 1805 in Plaistow, Nr Bromley, Kent, and Thomas MARTIN, b. abt 1811. William was married to Mary WOOD, b. abt 1805 in Chipping, Hertfordshire, and Thomas was married to Mary's sister Amy, b. abt 1806 in Chipping, Herts. Thomas ran a greengrocer's shop in Eltham High Street, and he appears to have died about 1856, when Amy's sister Mary and family appear to move in with her. Both couples seem to vanish after the 1861 census, and there are no records of their deaths that are immediately obvious. William & Mary had children who survived, whilst the other couple were childless. Anyone else researching these families ?

William and Mary nee Adkin married on Christmas day 1915 in Crayford. They lived in Alexandra road Erith, and had 10 children. William worked as a labourer, and coal porter when young. served in WW1 and was an air raid warden for alexandra road in WW2. My father is their youngest child and emigrated to Australia in 1971, with my mother June nee Collins and myself. Wesleyan.Twenty-three days after arriving in Australia Sarah married John West on 17 February 1851. Sarah died 29 October 1901. Buried at Alberton, Victoria. Australia. The passengers on the SLAINS CASTLE were a part of the Family Colonisation Loan Society selected under Mrs Caroline Chisholm. On 1841 census for Erith there is a Sarah Harvey age 15 staying with John & Sarah Ewers at Lessness House, Erith.

My Grandparents both grew up in Arthur Street, my grandmother Mary Adkins lived at No. 7 with her perents John and Charlotte and sister Matilda, in 1891 census (moved to crayford by1901) Grandfather was William Crispin at no.47 in same census his parents were William and Martha they had a large family, on the census their first five children are listed. Also Martha's Grandmother is on the same census as living in Wiggins cottages Arthur street with two sons, Martha is living with an older brother.

I am trying to trace my family history. My great grandfather William Hellary, occupation - labourer, lived at 7 Prices Cottages in Erith. He was married to a woman called Caroline Houghton. He Lodged there with the Sutton Family in the 1880s. EdwardSutton was the head of the household and acccording to my gt.grandfather's death certificate,was also his brother in Law. Dunmall/Oliver - Erith
Have now found Jeremiah born Farningham not Erith. His son Alfred (not Arthur - I have not come across Arthur)definitely married Ellen Oliver. I have copy of marriage certificate. Neither married again and I am sure Ellen was not married previously. No indication of this on certificate. I have William and Mary/Marie/Maria as Ellen's parents and I believe they were married in Sutton at Hone but have not tracked down the marriage entry. Would love to know where the parents were born.

My Grandmother Emily Cotenden lived Wiggins Cottages.When married lived top of streetHer sister lived at the bottom by the alley to Page Crescent They were the Hill and the Stradwicks Dad and Mum also lived there .They stayed with family(my sister)until houses were demolished.Mum died last year she was 98.The street holds fond memories for me and good people lived there salt of the earth!!!Diamonds my daughter would say.My dad was hairdresser woops (Barber)in Erith for Mr Hodson,Crayford Rd Erith.Poll Hunts shop by our house,sold everything!! gas mantles candles,cotton.sugar,so dark and dingy 12,o,clock at nightstill open!!!The mission the Mayberry Curlys maunders,welch,eastons,pattisons waller Tamlins---Time to go ..bye

I have information of Clara Alice Bearham who was married to Alfred George Richard SMITH,January 1915.He died in WW1 4th of April 1918.I am their grandchild. My father was borned 1917.and died in 1998 in Norway,where we live.It would be very nice to share more information.

Coles,Sellwood,Hudson-Erith - Erith
Elizabeth Sellwood born c1831 married James Weeks. Their daughter Minnie married my great-grandfather's brother, Samuel Coles, and then all they and their family of 12 or 14 children emigrated to Vancouver where the Coles live today. Another Coles married a Hudson, and I believe there is a Hudson in Erith now, as my great uncle Jim Coles, mentioned talking to his cousin, a Hudson.I believe some of the Coles were Baptists.
