I am researching BLETSOE family who were baptised in Woodhurst - Parents: John BLETSOE marr. Eliz WARD 15 July 1776 in Ellington, Hunts. I believe John BLETSOE may have originated from Rushden, Northants. Children: Sarah Landel BLETSOE (bap. Ellington) marr. Thomas CURTIS 17 Nov 1817 in Chelveston, Elizabeth (bap. Ellington), Edward Thomas, Ann marr. John WHITE 18 Dec 1810 in Glatton, Mary marr. William ASPLEN 7 Nov 1816 in Willingham by St Ives, Bernard marr. Eliz. SCARLETT 6 Jul 1815 in St Luke, Old St, Finsbury, London, Borrett marr. Virtue DAWES 13 Nov 1816 in Glatton, Lucy (bap. Woodhurst).

Thomas Merrill/Merrell born abt 1849 - Woodhurst
I am researching the family of Thomas and Mary(nee Relton) and their son, George Leonard Merrill born 1874, who in 1881 were at the Three Horseshoes public house in Church Street, now a private house. By 1901 George had moved to Leicester, married Mary Jane Mattock, had two children, Ellen Edith and George Leonard jnr and was a widower living with his brothers, Thomas and Frederick and sister Lizzie. The rest of the family were recorded as living in census place 33 in Church Street. Mary was buried in the churchyard of St John the Baptist in 1902. I am interested to know why they moved from Woodhurst and who they went to live with in Leicester as well as any information about their life and family in Woodhurst.

I am researching the West family. In particular John West born 1825 who married Eliza Day in 1853 at Hemingford Abbots. Their son Joseph born 1862 married Catherine & they appear on the 1881 census at Woodhurst. They had 13 children most of whom were born at Woodhurst.
