I am looking for descendents of John Carter born 1822 in St ives huntingdon. He married Elizabeth Claxton in December1846 in Kings Lynn Norfolk he was 24 years old. Daughter Mary Ann was born in 1849 in Pinchbeck Norfolk. Son William was born in 1851 born in Kings Lyn Norfolk In 1851 the family was living in Kings Lynn Norfolk living at new conduit street He was workings as a carpenters labourer. Mother Elizabeth was 25. Children Mary Ann and William were with them. His sister in law Jane Claxton was living with them she was a nurse and 17 years old. Unmarried. Born in Rudham. Daughter Elizabeth was born in 1858 in Romford Barking Essex. In 1861 the family was living in Union Road Barking Essex Children Mary, Elizabeth and William was with them. I live in Australia and am researching the Weaver and Barter sides of the family. The details I have are: George Alfred Weaver born about Jul/Aug/Sep 1853. I don't know WHERE he was born or who his parents were but I believe he married Clara Barter on 5th March 1877 in Adelaide, Australia. Clara's parents were Henry Barter and Rebecca Crouch who married in Collingbourne Kingston in England in 1846. They emmigrated to Australia in 1854 on the Navarino. I can't find any more info than this so I wonder if my dates and details are correct. If anyone can help I will be most appreciative, Thankyou in advance, Carol.

Skeggs - Huntingdon
I'm looking for any information on the Skeggs family from Huntingdon. Particulary Fanny Skeggs born c. 1823. I think her father was Thomas Skeggs and her mother was called Ann (surname unknown). Fanny was married to John Miller they lived in Cambridge and they had several children all with the surname Skeggs Miller. In 1871 I find Fanny Skeggs in the Cambridge Union Workhouse with a son called Phillip Skeggs while the rest of the family are all still living together in Cambridge. Does anyone know why?

Has anyone any knowledge of the Maycock family from the Huntingdon area. Have found one mentioned on the first world war memorial at Ramsey - Edgar, son of Sam and Elizabeth Maycock who lived at 1 Gunthorpe Road Werrington, and was a native of Ramsey Hollow. Any leads would be very much appreciated, as I have hit a brick wall !

We are researching my husband's family who were living near Kimbolton in the 1770s. The family had two sons christened at Upper Dean In 1775 and 1777. We are unable to find the christening of their son Edward Silby. The family moved to Easton Maudit Northamptonshire about 1780 and the father of John and Neal who were christened at Upper Dean died and was buried at EM in 1801. his name was Samuel Silby. His wife was called Elizabeth.

He married ELIZABETH ?? and had children Sarah, Mary, William (born Eaton Socon) and possibly James (born Eaton Socon). William jnr lived in Kimbolton all his life with wife Sarah NEWMAN. William Snr & Elizabeth and their two daughters went to live on Isle of Man, but he only ever says that they were born in England on the census... Any ideas how I can trace him?

I am the Grandson of Alfred Phillips of Station Road, Offord Cluny who was born around 1879 and was a Railway Platelayer and who died in 1951, the year I was born. His father was also of Offord and was a Farm Labourer. My father now deceased, was George Phillips who served in the Royal Marines but started work in Offord as a Gardener in a large estate nearby. I am seeking information relating to any family links, interest etc. I know that there are cousins in nearby Offord Cluny.
