In 1901 Staff Sergeant Charles Robert Beaumont of Royal Army Medical Corps was the Steward of of the Isolation Hospital at Aldershot Barracks.His wife Eliza (nee Rooksby) and son Charles Robert lived in the hospital with him. Any information of the Beaumonts or the Hospital would be welcome.

John Whiffen was a baker in Aldershot in 1891. He died before the 1901 census but his widow Maria lived on there as a dressmaker with several daughters and one son, Walter William. In an earlier census there had also been a son John Charles. Hoping to find connection with Charles Henderson who married Maria Whiffen, sister of John, and memories of Charles who was a City Missionary and Preacher in London c1891-1901. Thank you. Ivy.

I am having trouble tracing birth registrations.
The people I am after appear in the 1901 census which shows the place of birth as Aldershot. I know the father was in the army and was very likely based there. However despite knowing the exact dates of birth searches of GRO have failed to show the births.
Where can I find registration details of births at army barracks?
I am looking at years 1897 and 1898.
Any help greatly appreciated

John & Emma FINING

My great-uncle John FINING was stationed at Aldershot Military in Stanhope Lines (Wellington) in 1901.
He was living in married quarters with his wife Emma Jane (nee Newman) and their children Emma (b.1897), John (b. 1898) and Ethel(b. 1900).
I believe he spent the rest of his life in Aldershot area and passed away in Farnham in 1903.
John was born in Staffordshire of Irish stock and grew up in Derbyshire before settling in Hampshire and I would love to know if any Fining relatives still live there.

Emma Charlotte White was born 08/05/1876 Stutton Suffolk. They had 2 daughters, Alice Annie Arnold (b. 09/07/1903 Alton) and Dorothy Margaret Arnold (b. 29/06/1907 Alton).

Harry Clement Arnold

Private PO/13839 Harry Clement Arnold Royal Marine Light Infantry died aged 29yrs on 26 November 1914 on board HMS Bulwark. The 15,000 ton battleship was embarking ammunition off Sheerness in Kent when it sufferred an internal explosion and sank without trace. There were only 12 survivors from a crew of between 700 and 800.
My relative was the son of William and Annie Arnold, of Holbourne and husband of Annie R A Arnold, of Victoria Road Alton. He is listed on the First World War Memorial outside the Curtis Museum in Alton and he is also remembered with honour at the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.
