1891 Census of Aldershot
- Aldershot
I have recently found fiche of the 1891 census at my LDS. Aldershot is listed in Surrey not Hampshire. Regiments found include the Army Service Corps, 1st Northampton Regiment, Scottish Rifles, District HQ and garrison staff, Medical Corps. If your soldier is listed at all he will likely only give you his name, regiment, age and birthplace but for me that filled in a gap. Worth a try anyway.

Mary Ann Morgan
- Aldershot
Mary Ann Morgan b1858 and her sister Catherine b1867 gave their birthplace as Aldershot Hampshire in the 1881 census. Their mother Mary was born in Ireland c1831. On both Mary Ann's (1881) and Catherine's (1888) marriage certificates their father's name and occupation were down as James Morgan coachman, deceased.
My brick wall is - I can't find either of their births (got one wrong cert) or any census entries prior to 1881. Does anybody recognise these people or have any ideas as to what I do next? Thanks Christina
