I am interested in Charles Jones 1799 - 1874. He was born in Minchinhampton and by 1841 was a widower with four children, David, William, Matthew and Martha. They were living at West End, Minchinhampton in 1841. I should particularly like information about the children's mother. Iam also interested in Joseph Daniels,a baker, born in Frome, Somerset, but living in Minchinhampton by 1841.

My gg-grandfather was Elijah Close (b. circa 1825), son of Edward Close and Elizabeth. Elijah was born in Minchinhampton, and the family subsequently moved to Bradford on Avon between 1841 and 1851. Elijah married Fanny Tribe in Trowbridge in 1847, and then emigrated to Australia. Any contact with people with knowledge of Closes in Minchinhampton would be welcome.

Looking for information on my g.g. grandfather, William Parker born circa 1818 in Batsford. His father was William Parker, who is believed to have married Mary Hallier from Arlingham, Glos. My g.g. grandfather married Louisa Cook in 1845 at Moreton in Marsh, Glos. They lived at Moreton in Marsh with their family. Over several generations the family had a history of working with horses and some were employed at the Batsford estate. William had three sons William, George and Thomas. Am trying to find the marriage details of my great grandparents Walter Edward COOMBES b @ 1893 and Alice Ann RAINBOW b @ 1892. Their eldest child was born @ 1914 and I'm presuming they were married before then. Need to find the marriage certificate in order to get dates of birth and fathers names to confirm the people I've found are the right ones, so I can go further back with my tree. Walter was a WW1 Staff Sergent, so maybe theirs was a military marriage, which is why I can't find it. They were both born in Chipping Norton (?) their children were born in Merton on the Marsh, Bourton on the Water and Nether Westcote where they ran the New Inn Pub for many years.
