JOHN HODGES and family - Horsley
Looking for any information about this family who lived in the Horsley-Minchinhampton area. As a 17 year old, JOHN HODGES emigrated to NSW with his brother/half brother Charles in 1839. They were both described as a "native of Horsley" and seem to have spent their early lives in these 2 villages. While I can not find any listing of John's birth, I know his paternal grandfather Robert Hodges was born in Horsley August 1744; his mother ESTHER HODGES (nee JONES) was bapt. in Horsley April 1792, buried in Horsley April 1837; and his father, RICHARD HODGES, is shown on the 1851 census as a widower living in the Rockness district of Horsley. ANY information would be greatly appreciated.
