Looking for the Miles family - Fairford
Am looking for information on the family of Robert Seaborn Miles. He was born in 1795 in Fairford, son of John Miles an "Inn Holder" in Fairford who married his wife Edith Seaborne in Cam in 1794. Robert joined the Hudson Bay Company in 1818 and remained in their service rising to the position of Chief Factor before retiring to Brockville, Ontario, Canada in 1861, where he died in 1870. In 1822, he cotntracted a "country marriage" with a Metis woman, Maria Simpson, who had been the "country wife" of HBC Governor Sir George Simpson. The marriage was formalized by priest in 1840. They had 9 children. 1. Can anyone help with info on his parents or siblings? 2. In 1851, he sent two of his daughters, Elizabeth (age 13) and Ann (age 12), back to Fairford to be educated by Jane Iles, whose school was at 45 High Street in Fairford. Jack and Floss Daffurn of Fiddington - Fiddington
My uncle Jack lived at Fiddington farm for many years before selling in the seventies.One of three farms in the hamlet,these properties were formerley part of the Tewkesbury abbey estate and provided dairy produce for the Abbey.The lane alongside is still called monks lane. The lands were confiscated by Henry v111 in about 1540 during the dissolution and at least one farm was given to his pals. Jack,Floss and their daughter Joan have now sadly passed on.I would be glad to hear from anyone with any more history.

my great grandfather William Roberts owned fiddington farm in the 1900's and lived there with his wife Ellen Laura and their children Dorothy, Phylis, Alec, Wilfred and Aurlene. after William died in 1931, Alec (my gramp) sold Fiddington Farm to Jack daffern and his wife. Alec and Wilfred then moved to Bradleys Farm in Shuthonger.

My Dyer family lived in Flaxley, Gloucestershire. Hannah and William had about twelve children and they lived for a while in a house called The Grange. Ernest's mother Lucretia moved to Salford, Manchester and married Thomas Routledge.

James Bennett (born Littledean c.1739) married Elizabeth Syer at Flaxley 31 March 1766. They had at least 3 children: Catherine 1769; Ann 1776;and Emmanuel, 1778. Would welcome details of the Syer family. Is it this marriage which establishes the Bennett connection with Flaxley as subsequent generations of Bennett children were baptised there?

I think I have reached the limit of what can be achieved on the Internet. But just in case, does anyone have any links to these families. Henry Baylis, born Abt 1700 at Forthampton, Gloucestershire married Hesther (or Esther) ? born: Abt 1704 at Forthampton. They had six children that I know of; Henry (1726), Sarah (1728), John (1729), John (1730), Mary (1732) and Sarah (1736); all born in Forthampton. Henry Bayliss (1726) married Ann Robarts (b1728, Hawling) in Hawling in 1751. Their children were Hannah (1752), Betty (1755), Henry (1761), Anne (1767) and John (1774). All of the children were born in Hawling. John Baylis (1774) married Hannah Barker (b1762, Stanton Gloucestershire) and had Charles (1797), John (1798), Henry (1800), Job (1802) and Mary (1808). The children were born/christened in Stanton and Buckland. I have a lot of additional information if anyone has a link? Regards David

John Stagg HOUSE and Elizabeth emigrated to Tasmania about 1841 along with their children Ellen, Susanah,Hester and John Stagg Jnr. Corfield Family - Frampton Cotterell
I am looking for information about the Corfield family. Harriet Corfield was a dress maker in Frampton Cotterell. She married Henry Hulbert on May 10th, 1843, in the Parish Church in Frampton Cotterell. Her father was William Corfield, a butler. It is possible her mother was named Sarah, who was born in 1791 in Shapwick, Somerset. Henry and Harriet are buried in St Mary's churchyard, Frampton on Severn. John
