The Whitehouse and Bentleys at the Swan Inn of Corse - Corse
My 2x gt grandmother was born at the Swan Inn in Long Lane Corse and Staunton in 1856. Her mother Elizabeth Whitehouse , her father John Bentley, and perhaps Elizabeth's brother William had children there over four or five years in the mid 1850s. They were travellers. William was to settle in his home town of Longton Staffordshire, and Elizabeth to marry Isaac Bentley and travel to Walsall, but for a while the families were passing through Corse on the way to markets presumably Ledbury and Tewkesbury. Does anyone know anything about such travels or the Swan Inn at this time?

I am a descendant of William, brother to James (they had a double wedding), who started a 'dynasty' of blacksmiths in Northwood Green (Westbury on Severn) from about 1814 until 1900. My direct ancestor James migrated to New Zealand in 1878. His father and grandfather were both William and both married a BALDWIN woman.

Sarah Humphris was probably the (Spurious) daughter of Ann Humpris and was baptised, on 23 October 1803, at St. Peters Parish Church, WITHINGTON, Gloucestershire.
