Clarke - Coleford
Frank Clarke, born c1876 in Thame, Oxfordshire, was a schoolmaster in Coleford in 1907 ( when he married local girl Ellen Fox, who also taught at the school.) I believe they had a son, Robert. Would like to make contact to share Clarke family tree info.

Seeking info. on Thomas Jones & 'wife' Sarah (unknown maiden name), they had children Elizabeth (1804), Mary (1807) and Thomas (1809) baptised Coleford but were living Joyford/Berry Hill. Having stayed with relations in Colesbourne as a child I am now interested in the history of the village. The cottages I am particularly interested in are behind the Colesbourne Inn pub and across the little bridge over the River Churn. Looking for anyone with connections to the Dyer or Scrivner families, both came from the area and lineage of Dyers can be traced back to the 1500's. Lawrence Dyer married Mary Scrivner, daughter Hannah, family migrated to Ontario Canada c 1868 then onto Rochester, New York and Wilmington, Delaware. Family returned to Simcoe County, Ontario in the late 1880's. Hannah married Charles Dean. Any information gladly received particularly of their stay in the U.S.

The Whitehouse and Bentleys at the Swan Inn of Corse - Corse
My 2x gt grandmother was born at the Swan Inn in Long Lane Corse and Staunton in 1856. Her mother Elizabeth Whitehouse , her father John Bentley, and perhaps Elizabeth's brother William had children there over four or five years in the mid 1850s. They were travellers. William was to settle in his home town of Longton Staffordshire, and Elizabeth to marry Isaac Bentley and travel to Walsall, but for a while the families were passing through Corse on the way to markets presumably Ledbury and Tewkesbury. Does anyone know anything about such travels or the Swan Inn at this time?

Thomas & Ann married in Cromhall in 1783 and both died there in 1825. Thomas came from a family of 5 from the Hawkesbury area.His ancestors were believed to have been Quakers and had been in Ireland. Most of the family eventually moved away from Cromhall to places such as Tortworth,Tytherington,Stone, Berkeley and to other counties and overseas including Jonah who was transported to Tasmania( Van Diemens Land as a convict.

Clutterbuck Family - Deerhurst
Stephen CLUTTERBUCK and Elizabeth HOBBS married in Hasfield in Nov 1784 had their family in Hasfield/Ashleworth during 1785-1810. One son, James, married (? SURMAN) in Gloucester in Aug 1816 and settled in Deerhurst/Apperley parishes. I am a descendant of William, brother to James (they had a double wedding), who started a 'dynasty' of blacksmiths in Northwood Green (Westbury on Severn) from about 1814 until 1900. My direct ancestor James migrated to New Zealand in 1878. His father and grandfather were both William and both married a BALDWIN woman.

John PORTER, my probable Gx3 Grandfather, the son of John and Elizabeth Porter, was baptised, on 4 March 1787, at DIDBROOK Parish Church, Gloucestershire. A John Porter married my Gx3 Grandmother, Sarah HUMPHRIS, on 19 December 1829, also at DIDBROOKParish Church. Sarah Humphris was probably the (Spurious) daughter of Ann Humpris and was baptised, on 23 October 1803, at St. Peters Parish Church, WITHINGTON, Gloucestershire. I would be interested in the Descendants and Ancestors of any of thesepeople.
