Seeking descendants of the family of Robert and Ann JONES
- Avening
Though only Bishops' Transcripts for Avening have been searched in the 1980s from about 1717 to 1812ish, I believe and would appreciate it being confirmed, that missing data appear in the Bishops' Transcripts for Avening during this time for 1717, 1721-1722, 1727, 1729-1731 and 1735. Has anyone found data after 1811? I haven't checked the original parish records for baptisms, marriages and burials for Avening but expect that missing parts are also in them (does anyone have a record of these gaps?)and would appreciate greatly if someone could inform me in Australia about them.
Particularly, I seek information on the lives and descendants of the children of Robert and Ann Jones. They had Avening-born children baptised as follows and post-1811 children might exist of which I know nothing:
Elizabeth Jones bpt. 23 Oct. 1803;
Vince Jones bpt. 21-July-1805;
Hariat ( =Harriett ) Jones bpt. 5 July 1807 (who married Nathaniel Walkley of Minchinhampton in 1828 and died in 1840 of consumption. They both became my great-great-great grandparents );
Jonathan Jones bpt. 23 July 1809 (who is alone on the 1881 census of Leeds, Yorkshire and died in the December Quarter of 1885, a mason and widower,possibly with children)
and Ann Jones bpt. 22 August 1811.
I believe that Ann and her mother may have been buried 23 Aug. 1811 and 29 Nov. 1812 in Avening but I'm not sure which burial is which woman. I don't know when Robert really came to Avening from somewhere else. He doesn't appear to be originally from Avening.I don't know how to find his settlement papers if they exist.
Is anyone able to help me; a churchwarden of Avening ,perhaps?
