Looking for connections to the Hamlett family who have been in Charlton Kings since early 1700's.

HUMPHREYS, HUMFRIS, HUIMFRIE etc - Charlton Kings
Putative line back to Gabriel Humfrie (c.1584-1643). Son Richard 1615-?; his son Arcalaus 1641-1693 had a son, Thomas, 1670-1733. Thomas's son John 1713-? was the father of Sarah 1746-1826 who in 1770 apparently married William Capener of Brockworth.

TURNERS 1800s - Charlton Kings
My great-grandfather was Jem Turner who was born in Charlton Kings about 1866. His father was James Turner born about 1828 who married Ellen Garn in 1862. Looking for any information about James and Ellen. Ellen and two of Jem's siblings were found to be in Cheltenham District Union Workhouse on the 1891 census.

Hobbs and Fisher family - Charlton Kings
My great great grandfather was William Fisher. He was born about 1828 in Malswick (I think) Glos. At Charlton Kings Parish Church in 1845 he married Sarah Hobbs who was born about 1826 in Woodmancote, Cleeve, Glos - the daughter of Thomas Hobbs. Both William Fisher senior and Thomas Hobbs were farmers. William and Sarah Fisher had a number of children - Samuel b. 1852 at Hampton, Cleeve; Thomas A b. 1855 at Hampton Cleeve; Edward b.1859 at Prestbury, Cleeve - and maybe others. I think that Sarah died and William remarried someone called Mary - though I am not sure. If I am right he had another son called Frank Ernest Fisher b. 1863. Edward went to live at Stancombe Farm, near Bisley where he was a cowman. If you think your family history crosses mine please let me know.

They had 10 children, I am looking for descendants of the third child Charles Bn.1824 Charles and his father Joseph were Stone Masons. Charles married a Sophia Spruce in 1843 and as to the 1881 census were living in Cheltenham with their 3 children :- Emily Bn.1864 a domestic servant, Barney Bn.1866 a Porter and Fanny Bn.1870 a Scholar. My paternal Great Grandmother, was before her marriage Polly Harvey. I have a photograph which I am told shows her parents, with her and Frank and Alfred at Chedworth, around 1895. Polly married William Severn on May 5th 1889 at around the age of 23 years, having been born in 1865. Also later photograph copies of Alf Harvey at chedworth with his wife.

My gt.grandmother Mary Ann JAMES(siblings Thomas,Clara & Charles) was born at 6 Orchard Place in 1864, daughter of Charles James & Sarah(nee LEY) both born Teignmouth. In 1881, the family were living just a few hundred yards away at 6,St Paul's St Sth. In 1884,she married Charles Edwin MORRELL of 9, St Pauls St Sth at the Congregational Chapel, Winchcomb St., and soon after moved to London, St Pancras, where Charles died around 1893. Clara apparently married and moved to Birmingham, mnnot known. Charles JAMES junior married and stayed in Cheltenham.He was still alive in 1951.There was another son, Thomas JAMES b.abt 1855. Had at least three daughters,Rosa, Elizabeth & Emily (Pemmy)who died in London 1957. James & Morrell families were all shoe/bootmakers. Orchard Place demolished within last 20 years, appears that St Pauls's St Sth bombed in WW2. Any information on these addresses sought, esp. photographs. Also connections or any information, however small, on Jamesor Morrell families. A possible sibling of Charles Morrell, John MORRELL was living at 27 St George's Place (ie the next street to St Pauls St South) in 1881.
