WILLIAM SMITH
- Black Notley
I would be interested to hear from anyone who is descended from William Smith, born in Yeldham in 1843.
In 1871 he was living in Shalford, Essex with Sarah who was born in Wethersfield. In 1881 he was living in Cressing Road, Braintree with Jane, also born in Wethersfield. Was this the same person? All details match other than her name.
Sarah/Jane? died in 1882.
By 1891 William was in Black Notley, with Emily nee Spooner and three children.
Mark Charles born in 1883, John William born in 1885 and Frances Allen born in 1890.
William was shown as a Labourer - Braintree Local Board on his childrens b/certs and his own d/cert.
I have never found a marriage for William. If you connect with this family I would love to hear from you.

Has anyone knowledge of Sarah Boyton who according to the IGI is the daughter of Robert & Sarah Boyton and was baptised 5 Nov 1710 at Bocking. I'm looking for Sarah Doyten/Boyton who married William Thompson at Panfield by banns 26 August 1731. I found the marriage whilst I was in the UK recently but didn't have time to follow it up. I interpreted the surname in the marriage entry as Doyten but it was badly written, I suspect the correct spelling would be Boyten/Boyton/Boyiten etc.
