I am seeking any information on the Miller Family of Fishermen who were living in Byfrons Place Barking in 1861, and moved to Gorleston-on-sea between 1861-1871. They then moved again between 1871 and 1881 and by the 1881 census were living in Grimsby. Names of particular interest are Benjamin born barking 1829 and 1861(father and son), John Joseph, born Barking 1868 Margaret Catherine (nee Petrie) born Stepney Middlesex 1837 and Margaret Sophia born Barking about 1865. Also John and Sarah Miller, father (who was a mariner)and mother of Benjamin senior, place of birth unknown. There may well also be other relatives, probably also fishermen from Barking who I have not yet traced

Carter Family History

Seeking help on the Carter family of Barking from mid 1880's to date. Descendents of John Carter (born 1821 in St Ives, Huntingdonshire) in particular his son's both born in Barking - Robert Henry born 1864 who married Ann Farringdon Wiseman in 1883, and John Charles born 1863 who married Alice Carman in 1888. Robert had 2 sons Robert Henry in 1886 and William John in 1890. John had a daughter Ada in 1894. Ada married George Keates in 1921. Robert Henry Jnr married Edith Mary Ann Lee in 1911 and William John married Annie Powell the same year.
Would love to hear from anyone who can help.

I am looking for three of my gt.uncles. EDWARD JOHN PIPER was born 28 June 1878 in Barking. I think he retired from the Navy and ran a guest house in Portsmouth. CHARLES JOHN PIPER ("Jack") was born 16 May 1883 in Wapping. I believe he served in the Royal Engineers and wrote a book on engineering. He emigrated to America in the 1920s. BENJAMIN ORMONDE PIPER was born in West Ham on 03 October 1887. He married Annie L. Hudson and may have emigrated to Australia. Any information on these three brothers (they had five other siblings) would be much appreciated.

hello i am keith and i am searching for anyone else who also worked at Wyoda summer camp for girls, near the town of Ely in Vermont USA during the summer of 1991. I remember Beth Csaky, who was from Richmond Virginia and instructed swimming, i was close friends with beth during that summer and have fond memories. I am also looking for some people who i traveled with after summer camp to Maine and then down the east coast all the way to Florida, we stopped off and met back up with Beth in Richmond Virginia. Elizabeth had a brother William Walling born 1879. Both William and his father Harry last recorded on 1881 census - disappeared by 1891? Elizabeth became a teacher and had been living with her grandfather John Carter from age 10. I am looking for any information about a James Joseph GORROD - fisherman - who may have married my great great grandmother Alice Sinclair Knight around 1862 in Barking. Alice gave birth to Georgina Sinclair GORROD in 1963. I think that James must have died between 1862 and 1866 as Alice married Joseph Bishop in 1866, and Georgina took the Bishop name.

Their son, John Henry, died at Barts Hospital of Tuberculous meningitis in January 1915, aged 2. John Robert was killed in France in June 1915, by which time Emma was living in the Edmonton area.

Looking for information on Hope Smith b.1847 in Barking. She married Thomas Street b.1844 in Loughton, my great-great grandmother's cousin. Hope and Thomas had 11 children: Moses, George, Walter, Esther, James Albert, Annie, Faith, Leonard, Genty Joanna, Thomas and Daniel. 3 sons married into the Lee family. Hope died in 1885 at Theydon Bois in an accident with a horse and cart. I would like to know who her parents were.

The Carter family tree is extending! I am now seeking descendents of or Robert Bernard Carter born Barking 31/12/1919 and his cousins William Robert Carter born in Barking on 30/03/1912 and John Powell Carter born in Ilford 24/07/1920.Between 1912 and 1920 their fathers Robert Henry Carter and William John Carter respectively, were living next door to each other at No's 8 and 10 Sunningdale Avenue, Barking. It is possible Robert Henry, a builder and estate agent per the census built these two houses?

Looking for ancestors and descendants of Elias Lacy HARRISON (b.1804 in Kent) and Carroline Murrel MUNNS of Barking, I believe the Harrisons were ship builders, Elias emigrated to New Zealand with his son Harry Harrison (after the death of his third wife). His other son Elias Lacy Thomas Harrison studied architecture and emigrated to Utah following the Morman faith, he was to become noted for his involvement with Architecture, Newspapers and a Heracy controversy with Goodbe. Sarah Harrison daughter of Elias, m. Isaac John MITHCHAM and moved to New Zealand in 1863. Caroline HARRISON m. Walter HAMMOND living in Ventor England.
upon the death of his first wife Elias Lacy HARRISON married Rosetta BEADLE in 1842. His third wife died during childbirth.

My Dad had three brothers. Alfred(orFred) ,Arthur, and Frank. It could have been any one of them. We lost touch with his family but I do remember he went to see his brother who had a shop in Barkingside.
