Brewer family, 1730 to 1830 - Felsted
Seeking parents or siblings of John Brewer, born about 1738, who married Mary Finch in November 1763. They had seven sons and two daughters at Felsted between 1765 and 1784. Youngest son, Henry Brewer married Ann Boreham in Oct 1804. Other surnames in the tree include Wood, Bond, Greenhill, Grenald, Mundy, Mead, Marsh and Hoare. Several researchers who have arrived at Brewer ancestors in Felsted, of the the same generation as Henry (above), have compared notes with me but we have been unable to find a common link to any earlier generation.

In 1882, my great-grandfather George Leader (b. Colchester 1863, d. Canada 1941) married Emma Freeman (b. Finchingfield 1861, d. Canada 1949). The next year, George's older brother James Leader (b. Woolpit 1848), having become a widower, married Emma's aunt, Jane Freeman (b. Finchingfield 1853). Jane was the daughter of John Freeman and Mary Pasfield, who lived on Wethersfield Road for many years. Emma was their grand-daughter. George and Emma had four children; James and Jane had three. I'd be delighted to hear from anyone with an interest in these families.

Buck family - Fingringhoe
My great grandparents Albert and Mary Buck (nee Green) lived in Fingringhoe in 1901, and they actually brought 12 children into the world, most born at Fingringhoe. Albert was a blacksmith and his 12 children were called George, Percy, Bertie, Claude, Clifford, David, Edward, Reginald, Ernest, Freddie, Ethel(my grandmother) and Victor. Thats a lot of Bucks to chase! My grandmother Ethel worked as a servant at nearby Donyland Hall.

Local farmer (1901 census says Haze farm, which I suspect to be Hay Farm). First marriage to Jane Louisa JARRETT (aka Louisa) gave 9 children. I'm looking for details of Frank HALL (final child allegedly by first wife but dodgy dates!) born about 1899 and details of Herbert's second marriage in 1903 (name uncertain) and 2 further children Katheleen HALL (abt 1904) and Arthur HALL (abt 1905). Bird Family, Forest Gate - Forest Gate
In 1901 my grandmother, Alice Jane Mimms, gave birth to a daughter called Alice Cecilia. Two years later, she gave birth to another daughter. Shortly afterwards the father deserted the family and the mother was left penniless. She could not feedboth of her children and Alice Cecilia was 'given away'. I know that this daughter later married William Bird of Forest Gate in 1923. I would love to know if this marriage bore fruit and whether Alice Cecilia's descendants can tell me anything about her.
