Looking for ancestors and descendents of James Day born at Colchester, Essex on 31 May 1797 and baptised at Saint Leonards Church on 23 July 1798. His parents were James Day and Peggy? Peggy's maiden name may have been Laver or Carrington. James had at least one brother, William, born 17 December 1800, baptised 13 Jan. 1801, and a sister Peggy Laver Day born 25 April 1799 and baptised 16 June 1799, both at St. Leonards.
James and Peggy possibly married around 1795 at Colchester.
Any assistance would be so appreciated.

Elsie E. Woolley went to Australia in 1911 travelling with her parents and siblings on the SS Armadale that left London on 26 May and disembarked at Fremantle. An Elsie Woolley returned to England in 1934 aboard the SS Bendigo arriving in London on 26 May. The passenger list gives her age as 40, occupation as a Typist and the address that she was going to as 59 Hythe Hill, Colchester. Are these Elsie's the same person? Also, did Elsie who arrived in 1934 work as a housekeeper to a Rector in Norfolk until 1944?

I am interested in sharing family history research with others connected to the MOSS family - earliest records show them in Earls Colne, moving to Colne Engaine. Towards the end of the 1900's most of them moved to London, but my g-grandfather Samson Moss lived in Colne Engaine, and 'Rukkee Cottage' until he died about 1930. Hopefully there are still some remote relations living thereabouts. Other connected surnames are SYCAMORE, CRABBE and RINGER.

My Grandmother Ethel Dimmick lived in Leyes Road with her father William Dimmick and mother Katherine Gillespie and her grandfather Hugh Rollo Gillespie till about 1916 when she moved to King Georges Avenue with her husband George Phillip Lancelot Stevens and family, George was killed in 1917 and Ethel remarried in 1920 to Henry Miller, he was killed in the docks in 1929 and Ethel carried on living in King Georges Avenue till her death in 1975 with her daughter Grace Baker and family.

John, or Jack as he was known, was born 26 July 1902 in Great Lever, Lancs. He was the son of William and Amelia Birch. They had a pub, The Rose & Crown, in Glossop, Derbyshire from 1905. William died 1918, Amelia ran the pub next 4 yrs. She died at her son's house, 319 Gorse Way, Romford in 1946. Anyone know anything about Jack and what happened to him? He also had a brother Richard Stanley Birch, born 1898.
