MARJORAM
- Colchester
Do you have a Mahala Marjoram in your family history? I'm searching for relatives of my Gt.Grandmother and great Aunt. My great aunt was Adelaide Emma Marjoram (daughter of James Marjoram and Ann Amelia - nee Swain). She was born 23.11.1853 in Maidstone, but was married on 15.10.1877 at St. Leonard's Church, Colchester to Henry Smith (who also came from the Maidstone area - Tovil to be exact). Witnesses to the marriage were: 'H.S.' and 'E' Marjoram together with an Alice Marjoram, a James Marjoram and a Mahala Marjoram.
I'm keen to know why Adelaide should have been born in Maidstone, married a Maidstone man, but the ceremony took place in Colchester.
