Ivy Lucy Ella Day - Canning Town
Can anyone help with my search for Ivy Day.Her birth certificate states she was born on October 30th 1900 in Canning Town,West Ham.She is shown on the 1901 census as 5 months old,and her brother Albert aged two years. Before my Dad,Ivy's other brother was born in November 1901 the family had moved to the St.Olave Bermondsey area. I never knew that Ivy Lucy Ella Day existed until I researched my family tree.As my Dad never spoke of her,nor any of the Day siblings,I assumed that she had died in infancy. But I have never found a death registration for her.If she did survive her childhood I have not found any marriage registration for her, which makes me think even more that she died in her early years. Do any of you sleuths out there have any clues as to why a child's death would not be officially recorded in this area? From what I understand Bermondsey in those days was quite a poor town.Any suggestions where to look other than the official records? Looking forward to hearing from anyone that could assist me in finding Lucy.

Smith of Wouldham Street, Canning Town - Canning Town
I suppose it would be too good to be true if anyone remembers the Smith Family of No.64 Wouldham Street Canning Town and if any of their decendants are still around? From the 1891 census I have established the following were living there :- James Smith (My Great Grandfather) Matilda Smith (My Great Grandmother) Thomas Smith Aleizadra Smith (alternate spelling of Alexander?) Catherine Smith Alfred Smith (My Grandfather) Mary Smith As near as I can tell, my Grandfather joined the merchant navy and emmigrated to NZ in about 1903. He lost touch with the rest of his family and didn't even talk much about them to his children (he died when I was 9). It would be great to track down some living relatives or fill holes in the family tree, so if anyone remembers anything or can offer suggestions where i could look it would be appreciated.
