James Oswald Clazey was Schoolmaster at the Londonderry School in Shiney Row. His mother, Isabella Oswald Clazey lived there as well. On the day of the census, 1851, Isabella had a visitor, Mary Robson, who was listed as school mistress of the same school. I would like to find out more information about the school and the Clazeys.

Does anyone have any details of the Rev Messenger in Shotley Bridge? We live in Messenger House which he was supposed to have built. he was vicar at St Andrews Shotley Field. he moved to the district in 1829 and died in 1841.

I am trying to establish if there is a Family connection between a John Nixon, dob 10-05-1815 in Barlow,Durham and my Great-Great-Grandfather George Brown dob abt 1815 in Howden Pans, Northumberland. John Nixon came to South Wales as a Mining engineer having served his appenticeship with a Joseph Gray in Durham. George Brown followed him to Wales and was the "Viewer" during the sinking of the Navigation Colliery in Mountain Ash, Mid Glamorgan, and he subsequently became the Manager of several of Nixon Collieries in the area. I am seeking information regarding William (b1808)and Ann (nee Allan, b1805) Musgrave. Both are from Grinton in North Yorkshire. William was a Lead and coal miner who worked in Grinton, Brough, and Leasingthorn. They moved to South Church (also known as Auckland St Andew)at some piont between 1851 and 61 and were running the Blue Bells Inn. They had many children and grandchildren.
