Looking for the birth of Ann HINDSON around about 1805/1808 in the parish of Tanfield, possibly Shield Row which is a village that is part of Stanley - County Durham - England. She married John MORTON of Shield Row in 1825 and the search is being complicated by the census info and the fact that I just cannot find a christening record of her, the 1841 census has her born in County (Durham) but the 1851 census states that she is born at Coldchester and the county is left off???, there are some HINDSON births at Shield Row or in the parish of Tanfield and the only Ann that I can find is christened in 1795 - mother Jane HINDSON no father and this is where things become realy complicated, there is a Jane HINDSON born 1790 who has at least 3 kids out of wedlock, one of them christened in 1808 at Shield Row, is it possible that there are two Jane HINDSONS in the Chapelry of Tanfield having kids born out of wedlock. Any help in this matter would be gratefully appreciated. Would love to hear from anyone researching MORTON and HINDSON families of Shield Row.
