RANDALL/ DEAN/ STAMPER / WRIGHT/ JONES/ NUGENT - Hartlepool
I am searching for any info on my Great Aunt Sarah Hannah ( nee DEAN ) RANDALL and her family. Sarah married Joseph H. Randall Jr. on Dec 24th ,1910 in Stockton-On-Tees, County Durham. Joseph was from Thornaby ,Yorkshire , the son of Joseph H. Randall Sr.& Jane Julia ( nee JONES )RANDALL, both of Joseph's parent were originally from the Staffordshire area, Tipton & West Bromwich respectfully.
Sarah was the daughter of Emma( nee STAMPER )DEAN ( of Stockton-On-Tees ) & William DEAN,( of Thirsk, Yorks). William & Emma were either divorced or estranged - according to the 1901 Census...where I found Sarah & her brother, John - ( My Grandfather) & mother living in Middlesbrough with Emma's mother-In-law - Widow Hannah ( Wright ) DEAN, while William was with a Margaret NUGENT IN STOCKTON-On-TEES & what appears to be an extended family. It is believed that Sarah & Joseph had a daughter, Emma Randall born in 1911, although I cannot find a death or marriage for her. If anyone knows anything of this family would you please contact me!I am in Newfoundland & being so far away makes it difficult to research without help!

SCOTT, Walter or Bob (Robert) or John; HARTLEPOOL Durham, England - Hartlepool
I am having trouble tracking down my grandfather, Walter Scott who immigrated to Canada with his brother Bob or Robert & his mother around 1908 most likely from Liverpool, England. I have been told that he was born in Scotland & then his family moved to West Hartleypool (sic Hartlepool) as one of my late Uncles visited his father's brother John Scott when he was on leave during W.W.II.
Walter trained as a ship-builder in either West Hartleypool (sic Hartlepool) or possibly in Liverpool, England!
After immigrating to Canada, he worked in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he met & married my grandmother, Henrietta May McGaw.
He worked as a chauffeur/mechanic for my Great Grandfather, Samuel Alexander McGaw, a prominent businessman in Winnipeg until after marrying Henrietta. He then moved to Calgary, Alberta where he worked as a chauffeur/mechanic for P. Burns, also a wealthy & prominent businessman.
After that he & my grandmother moved around a lot eventually settling in or around Calgary, Alberta. They had 7 children together.
After my grandmother died, Walter moved to Vancouver, B.C. where he remarried, & eventually died on the 24th day of Dec. 1968 at the age of 77.
Please contact me with any details. Thank you.

Barron of 30, York Road, West Hartlepool - Hartlepool
The above manufactured boxwood rules probably in the late 1800`s.
I think that later the firm became Barron and Harding.
I would be interested to know if anyone can pinpoint a date when manufacturing happened. I collect slide rules and have two examples by Barron and also Barron and Harding. Any information about either of the businesses would be very welcome. The rules show scales in Lbs to the Inch and if anyone knows what industry this was connected with then that too would be interesting.
Thankyou in advance to anyone who responds to this message.
