McGowan - Lanchester
I am looking for my Grandmothers family. Her name was Sarah Ann McGowan, bn. 1920, in Lanchester, she married John Robert Fountain, and settled in Leadgate. Her mother was of the same name, she was believed to have been married, but possibly to someone of the same surname. She died young, possibly around 1930 after a fall down the stairs. It is also possible that she had a son, called Matthew McGowan, although i believe that my he died around the same time as his mother, although this is all hearsay. If anyone can help me it would be greatly apprecieted.

I am trying to find out information on a Henry Brown born around 1760 who had a son called Hall Brown b 1778 Cornsay, Lanchester. He was a farmer and was married at St Andrew's Church, Auckland 21/11/1799 to Elizabeth Gardner b 1782 Brancepeth, Brandon. Henry was a witness at their wedding so I am assumming that this was Hall's father. Hall and Elizabeth Brown also had a son called Hall Brown who was born in Esh in 1805.
