Gladdoe/gladdah/gladdow Farm - Lanchester
John Story lived on Gladdoe Farm and died there in March 1771. It is very near the village of LANCHESTER. He left a will mentioning children Joseph, John, Mary Curry and a son-in-law John Graham who married, I think, his daughter Elizabeth. He alsomentioned his wife Ann who later died in December 1782 at Gladdoe. Where did he come from? His birth is not in Lanchester PR and I can find no earlier will in Durham or Northumberland mentioning him. Son Joseph was a witness to his sister's marriage in EASINGTON so there could be a connection there. This Joseph later occupied Moor Leazes farm, which runs right down almost into Lanchester Churchyard. Any information would be most appreciated. If anyone is interested, I have quite a large quantity of information on the Story/Storey family of Lanchester, Durham, from 1750 to the late 19th century.
